About Sterling Vineyards



Internationally known, Sterling Vineyards is one of the most visited wineries in Napa Valley. Modeled after a Greek monastery, the winery sits 300 feet above the valley floor where visitors take an aerial tram to access the top-quality Bordeaux varietals and majestic 360-degree views of Napa Valley. Closed in September 2020 following the Glass Fire that affected much of the area, Sterling reopened to guests in October 2023 complete with a new gondola system, re-imagined visitor spaces and a fresh take on Napa Valley hospitality.

About the Role



The Culinary Lead will be responsible for all aspects of the culinary program both on and off-site in tandem with the Culinary & Events AHSM. This includes managing labor costs, ensuring quality food product and exceeding guest satisfaction. This role is a front-line leader of the site responsible for all guest interaction, team inspiration and leadership as well as achieving financial deliverables.



Responsibilities:

* Coordinates with the Culinary Manager in food ordering and inventory
* Oversee proper receiving, inspecting and storing of all food orders
* Working together with the Director of Hospitality and AHSMs and peer Leads achieves or exceed key DTC financial objectives including
* Understand and maintain cost controls, especially labor and COGS of wine and food on all tours and tastings
* Partner with front of house team to manage Tock experiences and availability to maximize revenue and guest count
* Be active in the local hospitality market to build a strong referral channel generating new business
* Maintain consistent guest service standards
* Works with the Culinary Manager on menu planning, tasting food programs and food and wine pairing and events
* Daily tastings to ensure food is meeting established standards
* Train, schedule and manage culinary staff to achieve both financial results and meet guest experience expectations
* Act as an informed resource for staff and guests regarding culinary sourcing, ingredients and potential allergens
* Open and closing the kitchen daily, safely maintain property and room specific keys
* Ensure Sterling team adheres to all TWE Zero Harm and Health & Safety standards, and provide all necessary training
* Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws regarding food service Complete projects and other duties as directed by Culinary Manager and DoH.



About You


* You have at least four years culinary experience.
* You have a proven track record of operating kitchens in a fast-paced and elevated environment.
* You have strong computer skills, notably MSWord, MS Excel, Outlook and Calendar
* You are self-motivated, highly organized, and require minimal day-to-day direction
* You have effective communication demonstrating strong written, verbal and organizational skills in English
* You are able to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays.
* You have knowledge of Napa Valley area, food and wine market
* You are able to travel on occasion to other Company locations.
* You are able to lift 40 pounds.
* You are at least 21 years of age
* You have a clean professional appearance and able to represent TWE internally and externally
