Located in the center of the famed Ribbon Ridge AVA, Trisaetum is a family-owned and operated winery that vinifies hand-picked fruit from each one of our three estate vineyards in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Small, hands-on fermentations produce highly-praised Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Chardonnay; Cabernet Sauvignon from Walla Walla’s Seven Hills Vineyard; and some sparkling wines too. We are looking to add one full-time employee to our small team in a hybrid role working with both our winemaking team (back of the house) and tasting room team (front of the house).
This role is expected to spend approximately 50% of their time on cellar hand duties and 50% of their time on tasting room sales. For those who are passionate about wine, this role is a unique opportunity to both assist in creating our world-class wines and provide our guests with a memorable tasting experience.
In these roles, responsibilities include:
Cellar Hand
- Work in collaboration with the senior winemaking team to create world-class wines
- Perform all aspects of cellar work: racking, blending, bottling, barrel care, sanitation
- Be a key member of the harvest team: tastings with the winemaker, cluster sampling, fruit sorting, barrel preparation and tank cleaning
- Maintain winery cleanliness and organization throughout the year
- Perform basic cellar maintenance/troubleshooting as needed (barrel/hose repair, forklift daily maintenance, pump maintenance, etc.)
- Forklift operations
Tasting Room Associate
- Actively promote wine and club membership sales
- Maintain professional tasting room demeanor and professional standards
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Assist with daily inventory counts
- Keep designated service stations organized and well stocked
- Maintain strong knowledge of all wines being served on flights
- Assist with additional duties as requested
Requirements include, but are not limited to:
- 21 years of age or older
- Able to work weekends
- Outgoing, self-motivated and friendly with a positive and team-oriented attitude
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work within a team or alone
- Able to remain standing for extended periods of time
- Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
- Must have reliable transportation
- Able to provide excellent customer service
- Able to remain calm and focused under pressure
- Able to articulate and speak comfortably in front of groups
- Punctual, reliable and honest
- Mechanically inclined and familiar with cellar tools/equipment
Preferred, but not required experience:
- Sales, particularly in a tasting room
- Prior vintages of harvest experience
Education:
- High School or equivalent
Licenses/certifications:
- Must be willing to obtain OLCC Server’s Permit and Food Handlers Certification
- Must be willing to become forklift certified
Compensation:
- Hourly rate (based on experience) plus tips
