Title: Estate Event Coordinator

Location: Orondo, Washington
Hourly: $30/hour, tips, and monthly sales/membership bonuses
FTE, 30 hours weekly, up to 40 hours during peak tourism
Eligible for OT pay per WA State Labor Law

The Estate Event Coordinator will oversee the Orondo Rocky Pond Estate Experience including retail wine and food tastings, wedding coordination with external vendors, Rocky Pond Concert Series, vineyard tours and private/corporate events. This organized candidate will proactively maintain all facility-related matters to ensure that all systems are operational. The successful candidate will be high-energy and proficient in retail wine sales, club conversion, with a proven track record to lead a team of tasting room associates, attendants and culinary personnel. This person will create and implement programing to achieve company sales goals while providing a world-class, hospitality driven and memorable experience for our guests and members. This person must demonstrate a company culture that encourages integrity, positive results, excellence, attitude of servitude and sustainability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
o Create a memorable, concierge-like, experience with members and non-members
o Facilities management: Coordinate with vendors to keep guest areas operating efficiently, including but not limited to: cleaners, delivery services, contractors, plumbers, electricians, HVAC professionals, security systems, keys, POS access and propane service
o Coordinate setup, staffing and service for the Rocky Pond Concert Series
o Work with Rocks Society Manager, to develop training and incentives to obtain Rocks Society member acquisitions per company goals
o This is a sales leadership position. Candidate will focus, and measure, average wine sales per visitor, daily sales goals and average bottle price
o Anticipate guest volume levels to ensure sufficient inventory and coordinate timely wine transfers
o Review and maintain tasting room menus with a focus on increasing wine sales and company revenues
o Execute best-in-class wine club, tour and tasting experiences and events
o Elevate staff’s wine knowledge of wine, winemaking, and vineyard operations
o Oversee all Estate events, allocate and prioritize tasting room personnel, create monthly schedules and effectively manage labor budget
o Additional responsibilities as assigned by the manager may include assisting with other departments during the slow season
o Manage complaints and quickly resolve conflicts internally and externally
QUALIFICATIONS
o Must demonstrate a passion for sales and world-class hospitality
o Must be 21 years of age
o College degree recommended, but not required, in retail/business management or hospitality, or equivalent experience
o Prior relevant experience in tasting rooms, wine retail, direct to consumer sales, restaurant or hotel experience is preferred
o Level 1 Sommelier or WSET equivalent or higher is preferred
o Valid MAST 12 Permit
o Valid Food Handlers Permit
o Must hold a valid driver’s license
o Must have a reliable mode of transportation
o Must be available to work weekends, special events and holidays
o Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
o Superior customer service skills and sales driven
o High energy, friendly, positive with a professional disposition when dealing with guests, vendors and team members
o Demonstrated ability to multi-task, follow-up and work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
o Must have strong attention to detail and anticipate business needs such as staffing, training, and scheduling regular facility maintenance
o Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
o Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures
o Maintain a professional appearance at all times in adherence to Rocky Pond Employee Handbook
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
o Must be able to frequently lift and carry weights of up to 40 pounds at varying frequencies
o Ability to operate various types of machinery to include, but not limited to hand trucks, dishwashers, etc.
o Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting
o Ability to stand for long periods of time
