Brooks Note Winery is seeking two candidates for our harvest winemaking internship. We will process between 50 and 60 tons of wine grapes this fall in our boutique, downtown Petaluma winery. We primarily work with Pinot Noir, but also produce Fiano, Pinot Blanc, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as a number of other varieties for custom crush clients. Our interns get a complete experience, working hand in hand with our winemaker and assistant winemaker everyday on a wide variety of tasks. We take great pride in making sure our interns leave not just knowing how to do things, but also why we do them.
Of course, harvest time in the winery is fast-paced, hard, and dirty work, but it's also a fun and satisfying experience. Interns can expect to work 40-50 hour weeks during the peak season (September to mid-October.) We make sure that everyone gets at least one day off a week, and, for the most part, cap hours for interns at 12 hours in a day. Every one of us on the team will get wet and dirty, but we try to keep in touch with why we do what we do by tasting our finished wines and wines from around the world a couple of times a week. We will occasionally provide lunch for our staff during harvest, and we try to create an atmosphere that is fun and informative.
We have rooms available for interns in an apartment next to the winery, walking distance to downtown, grocery stores, and a laundromat. Candidates not in need of housing may expect a higher hourly wage.

Grape sample processing and data collection
Fruit receival set up, sanitation, processing, and clean up
