Position Summary
The Manager of Guest Experiences & Events is a strategic, guest-centric leader responsible for shaping how visitors experience Cristom—on our hillside, in the glass, and through every meaningful interaction. This individual designs immersive tasting experiences and leads signature events that reflect Cristom’s values of stewardship, authenticity, and thoughtful hospitality.
Focused on guest engagement, DTC growth, and club loyalty, this role blends creativity with operational excellence. Working cross-functionally with Membership, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Winemaking, this individual helps amplify the Cristom story and deepen brand connection.
We seek a professional with warmth and leadership, ensuring every guest leaves with a lasting connection to Cristom’s land, wines, and vision.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Hospitality Leadership
•  Design and implement immersive tasting experiences that reflect Cristom’s land, winegrowing philosophy, and commitment to regenerative farming
•  Lead and inspire the hospitality team to deliver exceptional, concierge-level service that makes guests feel welcomed and engaged
•  Monitor guest and employee feedback to enhance service standards and satisfaction
•  Serve as the primary on-site contact for trade and F&B professionals in coordination with Sales and Marketing
•  Host expert-level vineyard tours, tastings, and curated trade experiences that reflect Cristom’s values and brand story

Event Strategy & Execution
•  Plan and execute creative events that reflect Cristom’s brand, heritage, and community spirit
•  Develop a signature, repeatable event that appeals to new audiences and expands brand reach
•  Oversee logistics, including vendor coordination, budgeting, compliance, and execution
•  Collaborate with Winemaking, Membership, and Marketing to align events with seasonal, educational, and brand-forward narratives
•  Serve as primary event contact to ensure seamless guest experiences
•  Evaluate event performance with Finance to ensure profitability and long-term success

Membership Growth & Engagement
•  Drive growth of Cristom’s membership programs by inspiring signups, broadening demographic reach—especially among younger audiences—and deepening loyalty with existing members
•  Collaborate with the hospitality team to improve visitor conversion and retention; review performance metrics to inform strategy
•  Partner with the Director of Membership to deliver training, resources, and talking points that ensure brand-aligned communication
•  Analyze trends and behaviors to implement strategies that elevate the overall member experience

Marketing & Brand Collaboration
•  Partner with Marketing and Membership to develop content promoting events and guest experiences across social media, website, email, and print
•  Collaborate on tasting room and event collateral, signage, and materials that elevate on-site storytelling
•  Build and maintain partnerships with local hotels, restaurants, wineries, and tourism groups to drive visitation and expand brand visibility

Team Development & Management
•  Lead, mentor, and inspire the hospitality team, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and continuous improvement
•  Oversee onboarding and training programs focused on wine education, service, storytelling, and engagement
•  Establish and review annual goals and incentive structures for the tasting room team
•  Partner with the Director of Membership to implement an annual review process
•  Coordinate with internal departments to ensure consistent communication and alignment

Operational Oversight
•  Oversee daily tasting room operations focused on efficiency, profitability, and guest experience
•  Partner with the Operations Manager to manage wine and non-wine inventory, ensuring accuracy and SOP adherence
•  Work with the Finance team to ensure accurate cash handling, POS operations, and reconciliations

Data-Driven Decision Making
•  Leverage Winepulse, Community Benchmark, and other tools to monitor performance, uncover insights, and guide decisions across hospitality, events, and membership
•  Collaborate with Membership and Finance to develop forecasts, budgets, and reports; analyze KPIs and trends to identify opportunities and improve operations
•  Provide regular updates to leadership on key metrics and growth areas
•  Maintain accurate CRM records across guest, member, and trade interactions to support communication and strategy

Qualifications
•  Proven leadership in wine, hospitality, or premium F&B industries, particularly in luxury segments
•  Passion for wine, with the ability to independently lead VIP tastings, trade presentations, and vineyard tours
•  Demonstrated commitment to excellence in hospitality, service, and team development
•  Flexible schedule, including availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays
•  Strong analytical skills; able to turn data into actionable insights and strategies
•  WSET certification or similar wine education preferred
•  Proficiency with CRM and POS systems; experience with Tock and Commerce7 a plus
