We want to continue to build on that spirit by adding a talented Senior Cost Accountant to our team. The Senior Cost Accountant plays a critical role in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting associated with winery inventory and cost of goods sold. This position is responsible for calculating, maintaining and updating wine costing, including performing all supporting general ledger reconciliations and overhead allocations. This position will ensure all wine and dry goods inventories are accounted for in accordance with company policies and GAAP.

What we will ask you to do:
•  Work closely with a variety of departments throughout the organization, including accounting, purchasing, and production to ensure expense components of wine costing are properly identified, understood, and recorded in a timely and accurate manner.
•  Track and maintain costs in Vintrace system.
•  Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly general ledger reconciliations, including vineyard and production overhead allocations.
•  Maintain accurate inventory valuations by physical location to ensure proper insurance coverage is maintained.
•  Prepare reconciliations for all inventory and inventory related accounts.
•  Ensure offsite bulk wine is properly accounted for based on contract terms.
•  Bring an authentic genuine positive attitude and high energy 100% of the time.

What you should bring to the table:
•  Bachelor's degree in a related field; accounting degree strongly preferred. Advanced degree, CPA or CMA a plus.
•  Minimum 3 years’ experience in general accounting and/or cost accounting required.
•  Strong understanding of cost accounting theory and GAAP required.
•  Wine industry preferred.
•  Strong Excel skills required, advanced highly desirable.
•  AMS & Vintrace software experience a plus.
•  Able to perform quality work with accuracy and high attention to detail.
