Harvest Internship Opportunity at Dunham Cellars
Dunham Cellars is a family-owned winery located in the heart of Washington’s Walla Walla Valley. Since producing our first Cabernet Sauvignon in 1995, we’ve grown to become one of the region’s pioneering wineries—crafting ultra-premium red, white, and rosé wines sourced from some of the most renowned vineyards in the Walla Walla and Columbia Valley AVAs.
Our dedicated production team is passionate about making exceptional wines through a hands-on, small-lot approach, and we take pride in fostering a safe, collaborative, and immersive harvest experience.
We are currently seeking Harvest Interns to join us for the upcoming vintage. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about winemaking and eager to work with top-quality fruit from one of the premier winegrowing regions in the Pacific Northwest.
Internship Responsibilities:
• Assist in receiving and crushing grapes
• Sort fruit for quality
• Perform pump-overs, punchdowns, and racking
• Operate and clean presses
• Sanitize and clean equipment, tanks, and work areas
• Support barrel work and other cellar operations as needed
Requirements:
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to bend over, kneel, reach, and balance on/climb ladders
• Ability to work in all types of weather and climates (hot, cold, windy, wet, etc.)
• Willingness to work long hours – including weekends
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Ability to accurately complete work instructions individually or on a team
• Adhere to all safety protocols
• Able to follow written and oral instructions
• Clear and effective communication skills
Positions typically begin with summer bottling along with various winemaking operations and training. Duration of employment is dependent on the vintage. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Compensation:
The projected pay range for this position is $17 to $20 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and education.
