Position Opening: Culinary Leader/Winery Tasting Room Chef (Full-Time)

An organization located in the Willamette Valley is hiring a full-time Culinary Leader/Chef to oversee kitchen operations and supervise a culinary team. This role involves managing food production, menu development, inventory, and compliance with food safety standards among other things.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing all aspects of back-of-house operations, including menu planning, food preparation, storage and safety, food costing, staff supervision, and kitchen organization. The role involves frequent menu updates with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients. This is a hands-on operational leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation and sanitation
Develop and update a rotating seasonal menu
Manage food costs, vendor relationships, inventory, and ordering
Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
Supervise, schedule and train kitchen staff
Coordinate with management to support operational goals
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in a kitchen leadership or management role
Proficiency in food costing, ordering, and inventory systems
Effective leadership and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Valid Food Handler Certification
Working Conditions
Weekend and and some evenings required
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods
