Job Description:

Oak Farm Vineyards is seeking a dynamic, hands-on, and enthusiastic individual with a keen eye for detail to join our team full-time in a wine production role.
Working directly with our winemaker, the successful candidate will assist in and learn all aspects of wine production.
This position involves significant physical work in the cellar, along with responsibilities such as data entry, record keeping, and lab analysis.
This role demands the ability to perform a wide range of physical tasks in the cellar and to actively participate in all facets of our production team's activities. The candidate will be involved in operations from harvest to bottling, including sampling for analysis, blending sessions, topping, racking, fruit processing, additions, fermentation management, pressing, and general cellar work throughout the year.
We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who is detail-oriented and not afraid to ask questions to ensure smooth production operations. The ideal candidate will be capable of multitasking, working both independently and as part of a team, and eager to expand their knowledge and skills in wine production.

Enologist Responsibility:

+Follow work orders for all cellar operations such as:
+Set up lines for transfers/racking and to receive grapes/juice/wine
+Do transfers/racking

+Barrel filling, topping, stirring, cleaning
+Tanks and equipment sanitization
+Pump-overs and punch-downs
+Pressing
+Do additions to must/wines
+Responsibility for day-to-day activities such as: upkeep of cellar cleanliness and organizing cellar supplies
+ Run Lab analysis
+Assist winemaker in managing fermentations
+Data entry and record keeping
+Maintain inventory of cellar supplies, bottling supplies and lab equipment
+Collect and prepare samples for analysis and tastings
+Coordinate wine needs and priorities with winemaker
+Assist with work order generation
+Complete other ancillary tasks and projects that will be provided as needed
+Guarantee production efficiency, productivity and adherence of standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

+Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
+Bachelor’s Degree in enology, viticulture or related field is preferred but not mandatory
+Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a winery or related industry
+Excellent written and oral communication skills
+Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
+Ability to manage priorities and workflow
+Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+Must be able to consistently make accurate math calculations
+Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
+Attention to details and ability to follow through with assignments and projects
+Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
+Ability to understand all safety requirements and cautions
+Basic knowledge of wines and wine production
+Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
+Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
+Frequently required to walk, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods of time
+Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in cold, hot, wet, and noisy environments
+Lift and/or move up to 55 pounds
+Available to work long hours during harvest season
+Must be 21+ years old with valid driver license

Position Benefits:

+Hours: Full Time Mon-Fri (plus late hours and weekends when needed)
