Summary:
Responsible and highly focused in monitoring the incoming must/wine lees processes and practices to assure the proper storage of the wine inventory. Assisting senior team members in assuring proper wine production activities through the full cycle (crush through bottling).

Compensation: $27 - $30
You Will:
Taste incoming juice/wine lees and validate categorization (coding) made by Inspector of incoming products (wine related)
Review incoming juice/wine lees data entry and write Lees filtration (Rotovac) WO (work orders)
Maintain wine IBC inventory: taste and record small wine lots, keeping them organized. Write WO for consolidation.
Review lab analysis, specifically monthly free SO2, total SO2, and VA on tanks in storage and write WO accordingly to assure proper storage conditions.
Schedule with team biweekly tastings of filtered tanks for fining and/or blending; write WO as decided by the team
Perform winemaking bench trials such as fining, bentonite, and blending.
Make purchase orders for wine additives and other cellar supply/materials
Reconcile additives inventory for end of year reporting
Monitor weekly analysis and tasting of MOX tanks, including set up and communication with external facilities
During harvest, daily checks on all fermentations (Brix, temperature, taste): record data and, when needed, issue WO for additions
Work with compliance to ensure adherence to all legal/regulatory practices and recordkeeping requirements.
Work observing the code of safe practices and company specific policies and procedures
Prepare work orders such as but not limited to grape receiving, nutrient additions, racking, sulfur additions, wine transfers, barrel topping, bulk wine movements, cross flow filtration, etc.
Prepare bottling project paperwork and samples
Work with offsite partner wineries to request samples, track inventory, and schedule shipping of bulk wine.
Work with Senior Cellar Supervisor to promote and to ensure safety in all areas; report to Safety Dept and/or direct supervisor any violations. On a weekly basis, and in conjunction with Senior Cellar Supervisor, to monitor inventory levels for winemaking additives.
You Have:
Four-year degree in Enology, Viticulture, Fermentation, Food Science, etc. required, or equivalent experience.
Strong experience with MS Office suites and Google Sheets
Demonstrated accuracy in simple and complex mathematical calculations
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and research skills
Commitment to excellence and high standards.
Ability to prepare reports and analyze data with a high level of scrutiny and care.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
Strong eye on safety, and ensure a safe and productive work environment
Availability to work long hours (12 or more hours per shift) in critical periods, extended to weekends and Holidays
Fluent in Spanish, written and spoken is a plus
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds over short distances.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stretch, reach, grasp, crawl, climb, crouch, reach, turn, and kneel, all for long periods (8 hours of more per day)
Must be able to see and read documents, as well as visually recognize flaws (or other indicators) in wine/juice samples; must have a highly developed sense of smell and taste.
