Regional Sales Manager - Fine Wine Importer
(Remote – East Coast Preferred, Open to All Applicants)
We are seeking a dynamic Regional Sales Manager with a strong background in distributor management and the three-tier system to drive growth and market presence across key territories. This role is ideal for a results-driven sales professional with experience managing regional markets, building strong distributor relationships, and executing long-term sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Distributor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributor partners to ensure alignment on sales goals, programming, and execution.
• Market Expansion & Sales Growth: Drive placements, increase market penetration, and expand brand presence within key accounts across the region.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement market-specific sales strategies in collaboration with leadership.
• Brand Development: Build brands with a long-term vision, ensuring sustainable growth rather than short-term transactions.
• Account Management: Work closely with on- and off-premise accounts to build brand awareness and maximize sell-through.
• Sales Reporting & Analysis: Track and analyze sales performance, identify opportunities, and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Brand & Trade Marketing: Collaborate with internal marketing teams and distributors to execute trade programs and promotional activities.
• Team Collaboration: Work within an established sales structure that includes a team of Regional Sales Managers, a DTC arm, and market- and channel-specific brokers to align strategies and optimize execution.
• Travel & Market Work: Conduct regular market visits, participate in trade events, and support distributor sales teams in the field.
Qualifications & Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in regional sales management, distributor management, or similar roles within the wine & spirits industry.
• Deep understanding of the three-tier system and how to navigate distributor networks effectively.
• Strong knowledge of on- and off-premise channels and how to drive business in both sectors.
• Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies in competitive markets.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with fine wine and/or premium spirits brands.
• Existing relationships with key distributors and accounts on the East Coast.
• Spanish language skills would be a plus but not required.
This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates based on the East Coast, though we welcome qualified applicants from other regions. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and includes competitive salary, performance-based incentives, and benefits.
