Alexander Valley Vineyards is located on the historic homestead originally settled and built by valley namesake Cyrus Alexander in 1841, who recognized the tremendous potential of land here: good soil, temperate climate and plentiful water. The Alexander Valley AVA is a prominent appellation known worldwide as the source of elegant, age-worthy wines. Alexander Valley Vineyards has an established reputation for estate grown wines with distinctive varietal character. The Wetzel family, who purchased the property in 1962, currently grow fourteen grape varieties on an array of distinctive properties, from vineyards along the Russian River to premier hillside sites on the southern end of the valley. Alexander Valley Vineyards is certified both as Sonoma County Sustainable and a Sonoma County Green Business in recognition for the steps we've taken to follow the best environmental practices and conserve resources. Our goal is simple; to produce high quality wines that emphasize the character of the varietal while following through on our commitment to make wine in sustainable manner. Alexander Valley Vineyards is currently looking to fill positions for upcoming harvest intern

We are seeking harvest interns to assist our production team in all facets of winemaking from mid August to mid November of 2023.

The job responsibilities as a harvest intern will include:

•  Performing routine cellar duties, including but not limited to; grape receival, processing, pressing, draining, barrel downs, and topping.
•  Performing tank and barrel additions and inoculations when necessary.
•  Doing pump overs and punch downs
•  Cleaning and sanitizing winery equipment.
•  Wine movements and barrel work such as racking, transfers, stacking, topping, washing and maintenance.
•  Following all safety protocols, standards, and procedures.
•  Various other tasks

Requirements:
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods of time, climb ladders, stairs, and catwalks, stoop, bend, lift overhead and kneel.

A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work.

Availability to work full-time hours, including weekends, from August to November with minimal scheduling conflicts.

Previous harvest cellar experience preferred, but not mandatory.

The hourly wage range for this position is $20-$22/hr
