Rustique Wines Tasting Room Sales Associates serve as the direct point of contact to our visiting guests. They are ambassadors of the Rustique brand and are expected to embody our customer service ideals. Members of our tasting room team work together to ensure every guest enjoys their time with us. Rustique is seeking a motivated, sales-oriented person to join our close-knit team as a part-time Tasting Room Sales Associate. The Tasting Room Sales Associate is the first point of contact for our guests, with an engaging and welcoming attitude, focused on the guest experience and education. We are looking for a person with a passion for wine, who’s willing to grow the Rustique Wines brand loyalty and to help achieve monthly sales and wine club goals.

Job Description Details:

- Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of our winery and our wines

- Educate customers about wine, the history of our winery, vineyards and of the Monterey County Wine Region

- Assist customers with transporting wine to customer vehicles when needed

- Answer visitor questions and able to provide general tourist information

- Greet each guest warmly and in a timely manner

- Present a professional, positive demeanor to customers

- Pour, present, and sell wine

- Actively present & promote benefits of our wine club

- Maintain the tasting room sales floor, including merchandise

- Participate in monthly Tasting Room Team meetings

- Complete daily opening, closing, and cleaning duties


Qualifications

- Basic wine knowledge and a desire to learn

- Proficient and or familiar with POS systems (Orderport)

- Knowledge of tasting rooms and grape-growing regions inside and outside of the Monterey County

- Professional appearance and demeanor


Physical Requirements

- Must be at least 21 years of age

- Able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously

- Able to lift up to 40 pounds

- Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours per day
