Vaughn Duffy is a family-owned winery specializing in limited quantities of Pinot Noir and other wines we love. Winemaking is at the core of what we do. Partnering with amazing Sonoma County vineyards is a privilege we enjoy. We are looking for an individual to manage our tasting room and other aspects of our DTC business as we experience an exciting growth phase.

We are a looking for a full time Tasting Room Manager who can run our tasting room located in the beautiful Sonoma Valley in Kenwood, California. Other areas of responsibility that connect to our tasting room will be assigned as appropriate, such as wine club administration, event hosting and planning, marketing efforts, customer outreach and DTC sales efforts outside the tasting room.

You must be a self-starter, capable of working independently and juggling multiple projects. This is a position full of opportunity for growth. You will collaborate closely with the owner of the business and our small team. Our success will be your success.

Primary Job Functions and Requirements:
•  Host guests in the most friendly, educational and fun way possible.
•  Explain wine tastings and share the Vaughn Duffy story with our guests.
•  Convert tastings to sales and wine club memberships.
•  Run the bar, clean glasses, make sure tasting room is neat and presentable.
•  Capture customer data and accurately enter into CRM. Follow-up with customers to nurture relationships and future sales.
•  Manage tasting room wine and merchandise inventory and reporting.
•  Willingness to take on and execute special projects.
•  Customer follow up through thank you cards, phone calls and emails.
•  Assist with planning and execution of events such as Wine Club Pick-Up Days, special events and group tastings.
•  Must be able to move and lift cases of wine.
•  Must have valid driver’s license, insurance and vehicle.
•  Most weekends are required.

Qualifications & Experience:
•  Two years of experience as tasting room host or tasting room manager. Customer service and/or hospitality background is essential.
•  Some secondary education and/or Wine Certification is preferred but not required.
•  A track record of professional success.
•  Friendly demeanor, excellent communicator, professional appearance, strong organizational skills, positive mindset.
•  Knowledge of wine service, winemaking and the Sonoma County wine industry.
•  Sales savvy and ability to relate to luxury wine consumers.
•  Fluency with computing and POS systems. Experience with MS Office, Commerce 7, wineshipping, Instagram, digital design programs is a plus. Please list any of these or other software programs you have experience.

Compensation and Benefits:
•  $25-$40 Hourly based on experience and sales performance.
•  Compensation to include gratuities, Wine Club sign-up bonuses, and overall sales bonuses.
•  Heath insurance stipend after 6 months employment
