Summary/Objective
The Regional Sales Manager will implement and manage a regional sales strategy, based on sales goals for the organization that will contribute to achieve the company’s business objectives. The Regional Sales Manager will report to the Director of Sales – West on a regular basis to ensure that milestones are met, and work is progressing as per plan. Position will implement and manage a regional sales strategy, by brand and by area that will contribute to the achievement of the sales objectives. The Regional Manager will align with the company’s established distributors and develop relationships with chains, restaurateurs, and independent retailers in the area. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for the states CA, OR, WA.

Essential Functions

•  Defining and executing territory sales plans
•  Develop relationship with distributor management and sales personnel.
•  Strong knowledge of the Off Premise Chain business
•  Understanding of syndicated data and its applicability to beverage alcohol categories
•  Knowledge of the territory and Key accounts (ON & OFF Premise)
•  Work in the field to visit key accounts a minimum of three days per week while traveling and four days while in home market.
•  Develop and implement pricing, programming, and sales incentives within the company budgets.
•  Work effectively with distributor sales managers, sales personnel, and key accounts to achieve company goals.
•  Ability to identify customer and market needs and challenges
•  Conduct sales meeting and training seminars for distributor salespeople.
•  Conduct On-Premises staff trainings and in-store tasting at retail stores as well as educational seminars for customers and consumers.
•  Establish and maintain solid relationships with key accounts.
•  Ability to upsell and sell additional products/services into existing clients.
•  Provide weekly call updates to MFWC National Sales Manager
•  Attending and participating in sales meetings, product seminars and trade shows
•  Manage, review, and approve chargeback expenses and track accordingly to maintain budgets.
•  Exceptional communication skills – very articulate with strong public speaking ability/experience and excellent written skills
•  Excellent organizational/project management skills
•  Developing positive relationships with other employees in Marketing, Administration, Logistics, Finance, and other departments
•  Strong abilities within Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Diver is a plus

Required Education and Experience
•  BA/BS degree
•  5+ years of progressive experience in wine industry
•  Distributor sales management ON/OFF
•  Advanced training in sales skills
•  Knowledge of the territory and Key Accounts (ON-OFF Premise)
•  Understanding and ability to improve and to grow sales in all areas of the business.
•  Excellent communication and presentation skills – very articulate with strong public speaking ability/experience. Must have the ability to interact with all levels of management and personnel.
•  Strong strategic analysis skills
•  Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as knowledge of Diver
•  English as primary language,
•  Reside within Metro CA markets: Los Angeles, Orange County or Bay Area.

Work Environment
This job operates from Employee’s remote home in a professional office environment as their base 1 day a week, with outside sales as predominant work environment (4) days a week. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
•  Ability to lift 40 lbs. as required.

Travel
•  30% travel requirement: has frequent travel requirements within West territory.
•  Able to travel and work during weekends or evenings, as necessary.
