A. Rafanelli Winery is a small, family owned operation located in the Dry Creek Valley. We produce 10,000 cases yearly specializing in Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. We are currently looking for a dedicated 2024 harvest intern to assist our harvest crew in the cellar with all harvest-related activities including crushing, pressing, sanitation, fermentation management, and barrel work.
Seasonal position: Full-time from mid-August through November. On-location housing available.
Essential Duties:
Maintaining a clean and organized cellar and crush pad
Cleaning, sanitizing, assembling, and operating various pieces of equipment
Operating crush equipment, hand sorting of fruit, and tank prep
Field sampling of grapes
Fermentation management: Punch downs, pump-overs, sampling, analysis
Draining and Pressing: Transfers/racking, shoveling pomace, and loading the press
Barrel work: Cleaning, filling, racking
Operation of manual and electric pallet-jack
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
Must be able to stand and work on hard surfaces for long hours
Skills/Abilities:

Keen attention to detail and safety
Safe handling of materials
A professional interest in the wine industry
