Talisman Wine, located in the heart of Glen Ellen, California is looking for a Pinot Noir lover to work part-time as a Brand Ambassador. Talisman has crafted award-winning Pinot Noirs for over 30 years, with a focus on partnering with small vineyard growers - and our team is ready to add a new member! If you want to be a part of a small team and get your hands on all things hospitality, this is the position for you!

We are all Pinot, all the time! We are a small family owned and operated winery with founders Scott & Marta frequently roaming the tasting room. Our setting and our tastings are inviting and warm, taking guests on an adventure of all that Pinot Noir has to offer. Tastings often begin with just one taste to warm up the palate before going off-menu and adventuring through guest’s choice of eleven single vineyard sites! The ideal candidate will have a natural positive charm and can provide an enthusiastic and customized tasting experience while pouring wines and educating guests on our story, vineyard sites, and winemaking philosophies. Passion for and basic knowledge of wine is always a bonus, but we want someone with the hospitality heart first!

Schedule:
•  8 hour shifts, 2-4 days per week
•  Weekends required

Responsibilities include:
•  Create memorable wine experiences for both new and returning guests by greeting & warmly engaging with each guest while pouring wines to taste
•  Educating and entertaining guests to represent Scott, Marta, and the Talisman brand
•  Educating guests on our various Pinot Noir vineyard sites, grower relations, winemaking approach, and what makes each single vineyard Pinot Noir unique
•  Explain thoroughly and invite eligible guests to become part of our Pinot Noir family, the First Dibs Wine Club
•  Ensure guests leave having purchased wine and having provided Talisman with contact data
•  Packing wine for current orders and ringing up orders. Pulling wines for pick-up, club member orders, and club releases
•  Provide customer service support for wine club members and others via phone, email and text
•  Polishing glasses, cleaning up after guests, setting up tasting areas for next guests
•  Setting up new reservations, handling inquiries, and confirming appointments daily.
•  Daily tasting room set up and clean up. Maintain cleanliness & organization of the tasting room including completing daily opening & closing duties.
•  Occasionally represent Talisman at off-site pouring opportunities
•  Engaging personality, positive attitude, & good sense of humor!
•  Increasing wine sales overall

Qualifications & Skills:
•  21 years of age or older
•  Ability to stand for 6-8 hours at a time
•  Ability to lift and repeatedly carry up to 40 lbs.
•  2+ years of hospitality, retail, sales, restaurant or related experience
•  Proven abilities in sales, customer service and confident interaction with the diverse public
•  Self-motivated, multi-tasker, flexibility, and a willingness to work within a team
•  Be a professional, personable, and responsible brand ambassador while at the winery and while representing yourself as a Talisman teammate outside of the tasting room.
•  Excellent customer service skills
•  Requires a knowledge of or ability to learn, or a passion for wine that can be communicated to our guests; willing to train the right person

Compensation & Benefits:
•  $20-$22 based on experience plus commission and tips
