Join our team at a sparkling house in Sonoma, CA, where you'll play a pivotal role as a Staff Accountant. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting in our day-to-day financial operations. Collaboration with the accounting team is key to maintaining the integrity of financial data and providing essential insights for decision-making processes.
Summary of Responsibilities
• Prepare and record journal entries accurately and in compliance with accounting principles.
• Assist in the monthly closing process by performing balance sheet reconciliations, and other key tasks to ensure accurate monthly financial reporting.
• Reconcile accounts receivable and prepare invoices for customers. Address any discrepancies or issues related to customer accounts promptly.
• Collaborate in developing, refining, and implementing accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations and assist in updating accounting policies accordingly.
• Assist in the preparation of month-end financial reporting process.
• Prepare annual schedules for external auditors and provide the required information for testing and assistance.
• Ensure all audit requirements are met, and audit findings are addressed promptly.
• Provide backup support to the accounts payable function as needed, assisting with invoice processing and payment verification.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and reporting, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or related field is preferred, or 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel required.
• Computer proficiency (PC) to include Internet & E-mail (use of attachments), Microsoft Office Suite, must.
• AMS system experience is a plus.
• Attention to accuracy and detail required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with a diversity of internal and external customers.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be 21 years of age.
