Mapleside Farms is a 122 acre fruit farm and apple orchard in Brunswick, OH. Started in 1927 this incredible landscape now sits virtually unchanged for the past 100 years. With 50 mile panoramic views to the west it’s no wonder it was voted “America’s Most Beautiful Farm” just a few short years ago. We are looking for an ideal candidate to be a part of the next chapter in the Mapleside story – the launch of The Winery at Mapleside Farms!

COMPANY OVERVIEW
The General Manager at The Winery at Mapleside Farms is a cornerstone role, pivotal in steering the company towards achieving sustainable and profitable growth. This leadership position demands a blend of strategic vision and operational excellence, where you will oversee all aspects of the business operations, from the Cider House and restaurant, marketing, sales, and guest services. The successful candidate will demonstrate a profound alignment with our core values, exhibiting an unwavering drive to propel our team and operations towards our ambitious goals.
Our main goal is to ensure that every guest has a world class dining experience paired with expertly crafted wines to create a perfect match.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•  Oversee all day-to-day operations of the winery restaurant, including dining room service, bar operations, kitchen management, and event planning, inventory control,
customer experience.
•  Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the restaurant. Monitor costs, expenses, and revenue streams to ensure profitability and achieve financial targets.
•  Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to promote the restaurant and attract customers. Collaborate with the winery's marketing team to leverage brand
assets and cross-promotional opportunities.
•  Conduct daily facility walk through to ensure all stations are set and prepared, and wine selections are restocked to create a clean, guest friendly ambiance. Develop
programs to ensure a clean and safe work environment
•  Complete all required administrative work including sales reports review, answering emails and voicemails, checking in deliveries, paying invoices.
•  Organize and prioritize every shift to ensure the entire team exceeds our guests expectations in all aspects of their experience.
•  Conduct daily pre-shift meeting. Motivate team to sell, discuss specials, events and parties, recommend food and wine pairings, etc.
•  Move through all stations of the restaurant within the shift to ensure an excellent guest experience, monitor activities and communicate coaching opportunities to improve the
team.
•  Recruit, train, and supervise a team of front-of-house and back-of-house staff members, including servers, bartenders, chefs, and kitchen staff. Foster a positive work
environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and excellence.
•  Ensure an exceptional dining experience for guests, with a focus on hospitality, quality service, and attention to detail. Respond promptly to guest feedback and inquiries to
maintain high levels of customer satisfaction..
•  Help create the standards of service that will be the foundation for The Winery at Mapleside.

QUALIFICATIONS
•  Minimum five years of experience as a restaurant manager
•  Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing or Communication preferred
•  Wine knowledge required. WSET. CSW. CS. preferred.
•  In depth understanding of culinary and wine trends.
•  Experience in opening a new restaurant concept a plus.
•  Barsafe, Serv safe preferred
•  Exemplify hospitality standards.
•  Ability to assess situations and customize solutions.
•  Ability to work on your feet for 8 hrs plus
•  High energy with an entrepreneurial drive to succeed
