Oak Ridge Winery is a family owned and operated winery that strives to be a leader in the wine industry and to work with exceptional people who share our values. We produce many well-known brands from our family vineyards and purchased grapes from the Lodi appellation and beyond.

Job purpose
This is a hands on position utilizing technical skills in troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing package machinery that demonstrates literacy and required sophistication to manage PC environments as well as using mechanical aptitude to solve all mechanical and electrical problems in the bottling facility.

Duties and responsibilities
Essential Duties:
•  Operate all bottling line equipment. This would include fillers, corkers, conveyors, air machines, spinners, labelers, case sealers and case dumping equipment
•  Input information into Weber case printers and adjust print quality
•  Responsible for changeovers for all packaging, glass, labels, uncaser, case packaging, case sealing, and palletizing. This includes all software programing, adjusting specs, etc.
•  Oversees new packaging design to ensure it will work in accordance with the Bottling Line Specifications.
•  Programming of all Drives on conveyor motors
•  Works with Collopack to maintain all aspects of Bottling Line equipment
•  Perform and maintain preventative maintenance on equipment, trouble shooting equipment issues and maintain spare parts inventory
•  Troubleshoot equipment - research equipment needs, Correspond with vendors to obtain best pricing for needed parts, write PO’s, and handle all repair or downed equipment.
•  Works in conjunction with Supervisor in ordering any necessary parts, etc. to maintain Bottling Line equipment
•  Operates Line to maintain production standards set by Bottling Supervisor
•  Soley responsible for using the correct packaging supplies when doing all changeovers as designated by the production orders
•  Accountable to adhere to all quality control specifications
•  Oversees Sanitation Protocols for Bottling Department, including training, enforcing, and documentation
•  Complete and turn in all preventative maintenance and maintenance repair paperwork
Other Duties:
•  Run, and troubleshoot 3 Liter and Keg Line
•  Assist in training of junior technicians and operators
•  Perform any other general tasks, commensurate with skill level as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma/GED
Experience: 5+ years of bottling line experience with specialized areas of training in the following fields:
•  Electrical, Sensor, Troubleshooting Hierarchy
•  Schematics Reading
•  HACCP & sanitation Practices
•  GMP’s LOTO
•  Basic Lubrication
•  Allen Bradley – RS Logic Certification a plus, or willingness to obtain

•  Ability to perform all duties at a proficient level
•  Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and overtime when necessary
•  Knowledgeable in all phases of bottling line equipment operations, safety, repair, and committed in assisting to reach all production requirements as set by Senior Management
•  Must be able to work and communicate with all levels of winery personnel
•  Knowledge of basic electricity, 110v, 220v, and 480v and read electrical drawings
•  Strong understanding of PLC, strong maintenance, mechanical, and electrical background
•  General knowledge of operating digital equipment on fiber Optic and RF Cable networks
•  Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows NT Platforms
•  Must have working knowledge of RS View and Panel View Software
•  Ability to effectively problem solve in the field
•  Must supply own hand tools and be able to carry a tool pouch weighing approximately 20 lbs.
•  Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and drawings
•  Must be able to work independently of direct supervision
•  Work effectively and respond calmly to frequently changing production pressures to meet demands

Working conditions

This job entails working extended shifts at times, occasional weekends as necessary. May be called in for emergencies when required. Will be working in areas with excessive noise.

Physical requirements
This job frequently requires standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, twisting and squatting. May be in awkward position; reaching forward, overhead, neck flexion/extension, grasping/handling objects. Climbing stairs or ladder carrying objects. Carrying, pushing and pulling objects 40 pounds.
