Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards is seeking a motivated Viticulture and Grower Relations Assistant for the growing and harvest season. This is a seasonal position, beginning in spring and lasting through harvest. Qualified candidates should either be working towards a degree in Viticulture or Agriculture or have some vineyard experience. This position reports to the estate Viticulturist but will have the opportunity to work with grower vineyards as well.


Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Collect and enter vineyard data, including but not limited to cluster counts, crop estimates, vine counts, sugar samples
Organize and report data using spreadsheets
Weekly monitoring of vineyard sites for vine health, phenology, water status and communication findings to Viticulturist and Grower Relations Manager
Monitor plant water stress on estate vineyards, using a pressure chamber
Night harvest support
May attend events and seminars related to the wine industry and grape growing practices
If 21 years or older, may attend and participate in private wine tasting with the Winemakers

Education & Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
2-3 years of viticulture/agriculture experience or two years of related college education courses
Must have taken Viticulture classes, and able to identify common vineyard issues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail
Must be team-oriented
Excellent computer skills including Google Applications (email, calendar, Sheets, Docs, and Google Earth)
Experience with AgCode Vineyard Database a plus
A valid CA Driver’s License is required with a clean DMV record and the ability to pass an online test
Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs., bending and stooping
Ability to work flexible hours and in various outdoor conditions, including night shift during harvest (2am - 10am shift)
Overtime and some weekends may be required, depending on weather conditions
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required

$20 - $23 per hour
