JOB SUMMARY
With a strong focus on providing outstanding customer service, the Estate Host interacts with guests and provides exceptional in-person customer service with guests and club members. The primary focus of this role is to provide exceptional guest experiences and sell Alpha Omega wines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Working overtime, when requested by your supervisor, is a condition of your employment.

•  Drive wine club enrollment and deliver wine sales by providing exceptional experiences while developing strong relationships with all Alpha Omega customers
•  Perform tasting room opening and closing duties
•  Promote a positive and collegial atmosphere in the Tasting Room
•  Greet and serve guests and provide a memorable and educational tasting experience
•  Follow visitation and membership policies to ensure guest satisfaction
•  Pour and serve wine to guests in individual and group settings
•  ID guests to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcohol and monitor to prevent excessive alcohol consumption
•  Ensure compliance with regulations regarding wine service
•  Effectively operate the point of sale system
•  Assist in maintaining the overall appearance of the tasting room
•  Perform event hosting at the winery, including weekends and some weekday evenings
•  Receive and stock wine and merchandise
•  Complete weekly and monthly inventories
•  Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no direct reports.

•  Ability to communicate effectively and politely with the public and with dissatisfied customers
•  Knowledge of wines and wine production
•  Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
•  Friendly, dynamic and genuinely enthusiastic about wine
•  Ability to manage changing priorities with enthusiasm
•  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
•  Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with guests and co-workers
•  Ability to work varying shifts/days of the week, including weekends and holidays
•  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
•  Ability to show up on time and ready to work at the start of each shift
•  Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•  21 years of age or older
•  Responsible Beverage Service training certificate

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be made upon request and in appropriate circumstances.

The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner at all times. Occasional use and operation of computer and other office equipment and the ability to stand or sit at a workstation for long periods of time. The employee is required to frequently walk, climb stairs, squat, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as needed, and to repeatedly lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. The employee must have the hand/eye coordination and agility required to pour, carry and serve beverages in carafes, bottles or in fragile glassware such as a wine glass. The employee must be able to walk at least 40 yards over uneven ground between work locations. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is primarily a retail one in which the employee will be interacting with the public. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Work will require working indoors in the tasting room and outdoors on the patio, or at outdoor events and may be subjected to inclement weather such as rain or wind. Weekend, Holiday and/or evening work is required.
