Job Description:

Established in 1986, Lava Cap Winery is a medium-sized winery situated at ~2700ft (~800m) elevation within the El Dorado AVA of the Sierra Foothills. We specialize in producing high quality, site-driven wines from numerous cultivars such as: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Barbera, Grenache, Chardonnay, Viognier, and others.

We are looking for rockstar interns to join us for the 2024 harvest! Applicants must demonstrate a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, awareness of job safety, ability to receive written and verbal instruction, and the desire to be a key member of our harvest team.

Essential Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
•  Equipment Cleaning and Sanitation
•  Grape Sorting and Processing
•  Fermentation monitoring and maintenance
•  Punch Downs/Pump Overs
•  Barrel Preparation and Filling
•  Topping Barrels
•  Additions to Juice and Wine
•  Pump Operation
•  Limited Forklift Operation

Minimum Requirements (Not Limited To):
•  Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
•  Availability to work long hours and weekends when necessary
•  Punctuality and follow through.
•  Willingness to work hard, be a team player, with a passion for winemaking

+ Previous winery experience is a plus.
+ Forklift experience is a plus.

Time Frame: August/September to early-November, may be adjusted based on harvest conditions.
Job includes flexible days including some weekends and will likely include daily and weekly overtime.

Pay Rate: Hourly, DOE
