Hospitality Coordinator

Position Summary
AXR Napa Valley is seeking a highly organized, hospitality-driven Hospitality Coordinator to support daily tasting room operations, ensure seamless behind-the-scenes execution, and assist with customer service needs. This role is central to maintaining AXR’s elevated guest experience by balancing polished front-facing hospitality with strong operational coordination. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, takes initiative, and brings a warm, professional presence to both internal teams and visiting guests.
Key Responsibilities
Back-of-House (BOH) Operations & Leadership
• Oversee all daily BOH functions, including:
• BOH staff direction, scheduling, and workflow management
• Tasting setup, breakdown, and site preparation
• Maintaining tasting locations and supporting same-day reservation adjustments
• Graciously welcoming guests upon arrival to our estate
• Stepping in to help with all aspects of hospitality operations with a positive and helpful attitude
• Work closely with the DTC Manager and Sales team to ensure guest needs, last-minute changes, and special requests are expertly supported.
• Lead the BOH team during tasting room hours and event shifts, ensuring high standards of efficiency and professionalism.
• Manage supply levels for tastings, events, and BOH operations; restock and reorder as needed.
• Maintain the organization and cleanliness of all BOH areas, including coordinating a weekly deep-clean.
Hospitality & Customer Service Support
• Assist with supporting sales opportunities and helping maintain a seamless guest flow.
• Offer warm, genuine, and professional guest engagement throughout daily tastings, private experiences, and events.
• Ensure service standards reflect AXR’s high-touch hospitality, historic estate storytelling, and overall brand values.
• Support customer service with order pickups, same-day guest needs, and service adjustments when required.
Event Coordination
• Assist the DTC Manager to serve as the logistics coordinator for winery events, both AXR-hosted and private client events.
• Support the DTC Manager with planning, timelines, and pre-event communication when needed.
• Oversee vendor arrivals, food service timing, setup and breakdown flow, and day-of operational execution.
• Track and document wine usage during events, including bottles poured, opened, and returned.
• Ensure polished, guest-ready environments and impeccable service standards throughout the event.
• Assist with post-event cleanup and reset for the next day's operations
Qualifications
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• A proactive, positive communicator who approaches challenges with solutions.
• Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, carry trays or cases of wine, and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Weekends required
• Must be 21 years of age
• Previous hospitality, tasting room, or BOH experience preferred but not required for the right candidate.
