Job Description:

Reporting to the Tasting Room Manager, the Tasting Room Associate plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences. This position is responsible for promoting the sale of wine and non-wine products with efficiency and enthusiasm, creating memorable wine-tasting experiences for guests. The Associate focuses on achieving monthly sales and wine club membership goals while ensuring gracious hospitality is extended to all consumers and trade visitors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

•  Warmly welcomes all visitors to the Tasting Room, pours wine for tastings, engages in wine discussions, and answers customer questions with professionalism and enthusiasm.
•  Ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional wine tasting experience, leaving with a lasting positive impression of our wines.
•  Operates an ETV to provide engaging vineyard tours as needed.
•  Demonstrates a personable, friendly, and outgoing demeanor, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
•  Displays a passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding customer service.
•  Proactively promotes and sells wines and Wine Club memberships, achieving sales goals.
•  Manages routine purchasing transactions, including operating the cash register, processing daily sales, and discounts accurately.
•  Takes initiative for personal growth, developing knowledge of our wines, brands, and hospitality practices, while refining sales techniques.
•  Actively participates in company-sponsored wine education programs and professional development opportunities.
•  Assists with planning and executing special hospitality events held at the winery.
•  Maintain cleanliness by washing and polishing glassware used in the Tasting Room.
•  Supports the display and pricing of retail items and wines as needed, and represents the winery at external events as required.
•  Performs opening and closing procedures, ensuring the upkeep of the Tasting Room and patio, including tasks like furniture arrangement, umbrella setup, dusting, mopping, and more.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
•  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
•  Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
•  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
•  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
•  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

•  Ability to lift and move 50 pounds repeatedly.
•  Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONENT:

TRAVEL: 10% of local travel will be required.
HOURS and FLEXABILITY:
Must work weekends, Holidays and some evenings
