Laureate Imports Company was established in 1979 as a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Trading Company. Its original mission was to generate counter-trade benefits for The Coca-Cola Company in several European Countries where Coca-Cola was expanding business. Laureate imported wines to the United States Market and portions of the hard currency generated were used in the host countries to buy ingredients to further the soft drink business there.
In 1991, Coca-Cola sold Laureate Imports Company to a major wine supplier at that time in Slovenia named Slovenijavino. In 2000, Slovenijavino’s trademarked wines were acquired by the very well-known and highly regarded winery, Klet Brda in Dobrovo on the Italian border. The winery unites 400 families, who have been working together for over fifty years and have turned local wine making into a success story.
Our mission is to capture in our wines the uniqueness of the Brda terroir and use effective marketing to contribute to the development of the region and the prosperity of the local population.
Qualifications:
• 5 + years’ experience in the wine & spirits sales and distribution industry.
• Possess a network of established nationwide wine & spirits distributors and accounts
• Base knowledge of wine with a desire to expand wine education
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Motivated self-starter and able to work independently to achieve sales goal
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Must be sales and targets driven
• Driver's license, safe driving record, proof of insurance
• Reliable transportation
• Excellent customer service skills
• Team player
• Ability to lift 40 pounds
Tasks:
• Calling on accounts, distributors, fine dining restaurants, hotels and independent retailers
• Conducting wine tastings, restaurant staff training, and other events
• Building a territory for new and existing wines using your professional relationships
• Actively look for new opportunities to grow sales through product development or sales channel expansion
• Conduct distributor sales meetings on multiple levels
• Participate in trade and consumer events
• Travel nationwide and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
• Prepare price and promotional offers for On and Off premise clients
• Price building from EXW to RSP
• Actively report new market trends and developments to the wine cellar
