Role Description
We are now seeking a dynamic, positive and experienced Wine Club and Events Manager to join our team of hospitality professionals. This is a full-time onsite role located in Paso Robles, California. The Wine Club and Events Manager plays an important role in encouraging relationships with our club members. This individual drives the growth of our wine club and customer database. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase membership, enhance member engagement, maximize retention, reduce attrition, and achieve annual revenue targets. This position leads both the front-facing and backend duties of wine club management and requires a combination of gracious and professional hospitality and customer service. Strong candidates will have superior sales acumen, leadership, organizational skills, and data analysis coupled with a solid understanding of what it takes to successfully run and grow a wine club. This individual is also responsible for creating, organizing and coordinating events at the vineyards and winery ensuring unique, immersive and memorable experiences for visitors and club members.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
Develop, plan and execute strategic wine club programs to achieve acquisition, sales and retention goals, while managing the annual budget and tracking results.
Collaborate with owners to create and execute an annual programming calendar.
Analyze Key Performance Indicators related to sign-ups, cancellations, and active memberships.
Nimbly adapt strategies to drive growth, optimize offerings, and achieve financial objectives.
Create and execute educational programming to train the Hospitality team to promote clubs and offerings.
Retention
Work to develop and adapt to have the best club member benefits, events and offerings.
Execute programs and events to engage wine club members to drive loyalty and sales.
Contribute content for emails, social media, club collateral, text marketing campaigns and menus.
Assist with executing club specials and club eblasts and text messages.
Relationship Management
Retain/increase the lifetime value of club members through follow-up, engagement, amazing customer service, and promptly addressing inquiries and resolving outstanding matters and issues.
Make genuine connections with members and key buyers.
Review reservations on a weekly basis to identify members and important guests and provide helpful insights to the hospitality team.
Operations
Manage club forecasting, club inventory and allocations, and plan shipments.
Flawless execution of shipments, from communication to processing, credit card decline follow-up, through fulfillment and successful delivery.
Oversee all pick-up orders. Includes packaging pick up orders, monitoring inventory and closing pick up orders in a timely manner.
Maintain compliance and direct shipping laws for each state, communicating updates to the DTC team and coordinating with our compliance consultant.
Data Maintenance and Analysis
Manage databases, ensuring accurate and prompt entry of member sign ups, club changes, addresses, credit cards, tags. customer notes and generally ensuring complete, detailed and accurate customer profiles.
Track data to identify sales and retention opportunities.
Make informed decisions that optimize our offerings, promotions, events and acquisition by leveraging data insights.
Create monthly reports summarizing KPIs for owners.
Qualifications
Proven experience in Wine Club and Event Management, Planning, Processing, Database Management (3+ years)
Required strong proficiency in Point-of-Sale software (Commerce7 preferred), Word, Excel, Email Marketing Platforms (MailChimp preferred). Prefer proficiency in Text Software (RedChirp), CRM software and ShipCompliant.
Excellent Wine Knowledge and Experience in the Wine Industry. Knowledge of Rhône and Bordeaux style wines is a plus.
Experience in Hospitality or Customer Service roles
Excellent Customer Relationship Management and Sales skills
Strong Communication and Presentation skills
Strong Organizational, Multi-Tasking and Time Management skills
College degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field preferred
Compensation and Benefits
$74,000-80,000 DOE

This is mostly a weekday position (Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday) with the required occasional ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays as needed to ensure Wine Club goals are met. Working Saturday or Sunday is occasionally required during wine club releases and special events only.
