Summary Job Description:
The Cellar Technician will be a key part of the growing Estate team at Signorello Estate. The purpose of this role is to conduct all cellar related operations for Signorello Estate and custom crush clients at Signorello. The position reports to the Cellarmaster and the Winemaker. Drives the culture of the estate with a focus on safety, quality, teamwork and sustainability.

Job Description:
•  Cellar Operations, including topping, racking, transfers, loading / unloading tankers, additions, sample collection, barrel work and winery sanitation, forklifting (certification eligible).
•  Crush / Harvest Operations, including fruit intake and processing, pump overs, racking, additions and inoculations.
•  Monthly cellar operations including sampling, sulfuring, topping, gassing barrels, inventory.
•  Safe Operations, including consistently adhering to winery and legally mandated safety policies and procedures by, maintaining familiarity of the content and emergency response procedures contained in all MSDS and ensures all equipment is operated in a safe manner, immediately notifying Cellar Master of any mechanical malfunction or equipment requiring maintenance.
•  For 2024-2025, helping with the establishment of the new cellar, new equipment purchase and establishing cellar procedures for the new winery and fermentation building.
•  Sanitary Operations, including consistently and proactively maintaining proper cellar sanitation, assuring all cellar equipment is properly sanitized before use. Consistently performs sanitation checks on all vessels (barrels, tanks, etc.) prior to filling with wine. Observes and adheres to wine quality control standards while performing cellar operations.
•  Safely follow safe operating procedures, support safety programs and policies to safeguard personal safety, company property, environmental and team members safety.
•  Comply with and enforce Signorello policies and procedures.
•  Follow SOPs and work sheets for cellar activities and projects at Signorello Estate.
•  Ask questions and request direction and/or resources you need to accomplish assigned tasks. Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment at all times.
•  Encourage a culture of appreciation for work well done with great attitudes.
•  Encourage open dialogue for problem solving and continual improvement.

Job Qualifications:
Candidate should have prior experience working in the production environment of a premium winery and be able to perform all the following operations with minimal supervision. Candidate must be responsible, to be able to work independently and have a willingness to work flexible hours, days, including weekends during harvest. Candidate must be fluent in English with a preference for bilingual (Spanish/English). Candidate needs to have a valid driver’s license with clean record. A solid work ethic and a desire to learn is required, educational degrees are preferred but not needed.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to work outdoors in extremes of heat/rain/humidity/cold and other weather conditions.
Must be able to walk on uneven ground
Able to pass a respirator test.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to see clearly
Forklift certified (this will be done for site specific at Signorello as well)
