Brand Ambassador: Demos & Tastings

Maker Wine

Remote > Novato, CA

Job Description:

About Maker

Maker is a premium canned wine company serving up award-winning wine from the nation's best small producers, in the perfect single-serving pour.

We're a small-but-mighty female-founded business shaking up the wine world and lifting up the little guys. We are storytellers, curators, and experience-makers. We want to fix a broken system that adversely impacts small producers and make premium wine approachable to everyone.

Featured in Wine Spectator, Vinepair, Forbes, and Food 52, we’re the highest rated canned wine on the market today. We’re venture-backed, growing fast, and just getting started. Join us!

About the Role

Our Brand Ambassadors work alongside our Sales Managers as the faces and voices of Maker in our main markets. They share our story, pour our wines, and educate our retail partners and end-consumers at all sorts of events – think staff trainings, in-store tastings, trade events, fundraisers, etc. This collective team of individuals is on the front line, getting the word out!

This role is a part-time position supporting Maker with in-person product demonstrations and tastings at a variety of events. Scheduling will be a combination of regular cadence events and ad-hoc events as needs arise, and will require a degree of flexibility in schedule and location.

We're hiring Brand Ambassadors in Northern California, San Diego area, Portland area, and Seattle area. There will be some travel required within your area.

This role is ideal for someone who is interested in the wine industry or in becoming an entrepreneur — our small company is a great network of self-starters and folks passionate about the wine world.

What You’ll Do

Represent Maker Wine at a variety of in-person events around your area: manage in-store tastings, trade events, fundraisers or charities, trainings on the product for staff at retail locations, etc.
Visit accounts in person to provide collateral and ensure good brand representation
Own immediate and long term KPIs for event success
Manage and maintain the provided demo kit to ensure full stock of appropriate materials for upcoming events
Maintain alignment with Sales Manager via regular communication and occasional 1:1s
Attend bi-weekly Sales Team Meeting
Attend quarterly All-Hands Meeting
Attend occasional Zoom trainings

Who You Are

You have wine knowledge and are excited to learn more
You have a great attitude and bubbly personality – willing bring the energy and enthusiasm!
You are a self-driven, independent contributor who enjoys taking ownership over projects
You identify with the Maker mission and values
You have a somewhat flexible schedule – this is mostly a “nights and weekends” gig
You don’t mind driving and some manual labor – think wine/materials transport and setup

To Apply
To apply, please submit your resume and a short (truly, short! Casual is fine too) intro note letting us know what interests you about this position and answering the following questions:

- Where are you located? We're hiring in Northern California, San Diego, Portland, and Seattle.

- What kind of wine knowledge, interest, or background do you have?

- Do you have experience introducing products to potential customers (e.g., sales, retail, bar, events, etc)? If so, how do you think it would support you in a role like this?

- Are you able to work a flexible, part-time schedule that requires travel and in-person event management?
