CELLAR – HARVEST TECHNICIAN - Experience a Plus, but not required.

Since our first vintage in 2017, Siboney Cellars has been building our ambition, prowess and capacity into a very exciting project, focusing on small batch, hand crafted Texas wines. Siboney (see-bow-nay) is a family owned, award winning winery and vineyard committed to advancing the overall Texas Wine movement.

Siboney’s Mission is to produce the highest quality wines form the Texas Hill Country and High Plains AVAs. We are dedicated to crafting premier, hand crafted 100% Texas wines, and creating a fun, inviting and engaging atmosphere – aesthetics and ambiance – architecture, view, courtyards – welcoming visitors and club members. We will share our collective journey through wine and our unique experiences, and the story behind the name Siboney. Our mission is to extend the ultimate in hospitality, friendly wine education, visitor and member interaction in the winery and high-end tasting experiences.

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Cellar Technician to join us and work in several roles. Experience is preferred, but we will be happy to train a detail oriented individual with a desire to work hard, learn fast, and enjoy life.

General Duties include, but are not limited to:

Harvest and Cellar;

-Work with winemaking team for grape receiving, sorting, destemming, pressing
-Assist winemaking team with fermentation management, punch downs, pump overs
-Assist with tank movements and barreling
-Organization, cleaning and sanitation practices
-Use of tools such as shovels, pitch forks, brooms, pallet jacks, squeegees, scrub pads, sprayers, tape measure, flashlight, tank washer, barrel washer, mixers
-Tank washing, pressure washing
-Forklift - certification preferred, but will train
-Barrel work (filling, cleaning, stacking, rolling)
-Assist with basic lab duties, blending and tasting trials

Bottling:

-Assist with bottling and packaging
-Assist with bottling line setup, breakdown and sanitation
-Assist with actual bottling
-Assist with maintenance of bottling and other equipment


This is a physical job in a winery/production setting that requires long periods of standing, walking, lifting, climbing ladders and steps, operating heavy machinery and the ability to observe others and the work environment. This position requires the ability to work on catwalks, and specifically requires the ability of color vision and the ability to smell and taste.

General Qualifications:

-Self-motivated, able to take direction
-Ability to understand and set priorities, deadlines and work flow
-Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
-Team building skills
-Prior cellar experience preferred but not required. We are happy to train a motivated individual.
-Must be able to work extended hours with flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed (especially during harvest).
-Ability to work occasional overtime, night or weekend work as needed (especially during harvest)
-Experience with Innovint (preferred but not required)
-Must have clean, valid driver's license
-Must have reliable transportation
-Ability to lift, pull, carry up to 50 lbs repreatedly
