Seasonal winemaking in the Willamette

Bjornson Vineyard

On-Site + Housing Included > Salem, OR

Job Description:

Björnson Vineyard is looking to hire ambitious, seasonal winemaking employees to help craft our 2024 vintage wines.
Björnson Vineyard is part of a scenic 107-acre farm, located in the heart of Oregon’s Eola-Amity Hills. We are certified Salmon-Safe and sustainable by L.I.V.E. (Low Input Viticulture and Enology). We are committed to generating renewable energy, farming sustainably, and making wine with minimal handling, so that each bottle fully expresses our exceptional terroir.
At Bjornson, we make beautiful Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as sparkling wine and many unique varieties. We have several custom crush clients making their wines here, and as part of our team, you would be helping make their wines as well. This is a unique opportunity to work with many small winemakers, learning about the different stylistic choices one makes, while still being part of one cohesive team. All our wines are made in small lots with hands-on techniques and attention to detail. This is a great opportunity for inexperienced people to learn, and for experienced workers to enjoy a smaller and more thoughtful winemaking season. All employees will be trained and expected to perform all tasks in the winery. You will not be stuck doing only one job all season, and we will not ask you to do anything that we will not do as well. We are committed to fostering a friendly, inclusive, and fun environment that is safe for everyone.
The position starts early-September and goes through mid-November. We ask that all employees are committed to work as many days and hours as necessary in that time, up to 80hr/week when necessary. Salary is $16-18/hour depending on experience, overtime is paid at 1.5xhourly after 40hr/wk in accordance with Oregon law. We will try our hardest to give you sufficient days off.
No winemaking experience is necessary. You must be physically able to lift/move heavy objects, climb, and stand for long periods of time. This is wet, dirty work and sometimes cold. You must be at least 21 years old. You must be able to speak and read English and be legal to work in the USA.
Limited housing (very nice) is available on site for those traveling the farthest.
Pleases contact me with your resume and references if interested. I will also provide references of past seasonal employees as an endorsement of the experience here.
