Job Description:

Milea Family Wines is seeking a harvest team member to join their staff for the 2024 season. We are
Hudson Valley’s Premier Wine Destination, only 75 miles north of New York City. We are the first luxury
winery in the United States’ oldest wine making region, crafting exceptional world class wines from
grapes such as Cabernet franc, Blaufrankish, and Chardonnay. Milea Family Wines is currently building a
sparkling wine house and has an additional line of wines specializing in grapes historic to the Hudson
River Region AVA.

Position details: This position will experience all aspects of winemaking at harvest time! From grape
selection and testing, to crushing and sorting, to cellar sanitation and barrel fermentations, to press and
pump prep and cleaning, and much, much more. We want a candidate who is self-motivated, interested
in wine, and dedicated to creating a quality product. We have a small crew, approximately 80 tons are
expected for 2024. Previous harvest experience appreciated but is not required – motivation is!

Essential functions:
•  Cleaning and sanitizing winery and winery equipment
•  Sampling and testing of grapes
•  Pumpovers and punchdowns on active fermentations
•  Monitoring fermentation temperatures
•  Willingness to allow the gm to take absurd videos of you doing wine tasks at inopportune times
•  Sorting grapes
•  Barrel steaming
•  Laughing it out during long processing runs
•  Observing safe cellar and vineyard practices
•  Inoculations and nutrient additions

Necessary skills:
•  Basic computational math
•  Ability to speak and understand basic English
•  Ability lifting 40 lbs as needed
•  Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods
•  Ability to follow directions and work orders
•  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
•  Willingness to communicate needs when help is needed or ask questions when unclear

Bonus skills:
•  Forklift experience
•  Lab background (Spectrophotometer, Sentia, pH, brix, etc)
•  Enthusiasm on listening to Kylie Minogue and disco for motivational purposes
•  Bilingual in Spanish

Position will begin in August and end in December. Potential for longer employment may be possible. Must be eligible for work in the United States, we are willing to work with CAEP for international travellers.

Compensation: ~18$/hr BOE – private housing included
