Élevée Winegrowers is a micro-boutique producer crafting our 1,200 cases of wine in a state of the art facility in Newberg, Oregon. We have 2 Estate vineyard properties in the Dundee Hills and also work with additional vineyards in the Eola-Amity Hills, Chehalem Mountains, Ribbon Ridge, and McMinnville AVAs. We are looking for 1 individual to work directly with our Winemaker, Tom Fitzpatrick, to help craft our distinctive wines. This is a very unique opportunity to be involved in every aspect of harvest and wine production, working 1-on-1 as part of a 2-person team with our Winemaker. You will essentially be helping to run our cellar and doing much of the work involved in the production of our wines. We are offering a very competitive hourly wage, plus time and a half (for overtime). Wine production experience preferred, but not required. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Vineyard work, including pick bin preparation, fruit sampling, and possible help managing Estate vineyard picks
- Setup and breakdown equipment and help manage workflow
- Operate forklift to unload fruit bins, weigh fruit, and dump fruit onto sorting line or into press (prior forklift experience desired, but not required)
- Prepare and clean crush pad equipment, fermentors, and press
- Move, lift, and wash barrels and other equipment
- Perform pump-overs and punch-downs
- Clean and operate membrane press
- Monitor, measure, and record data from ferments
- Oh, and did we mention cleaning... lots of cleaning?!
Qualifications:
- Must be hard working, reliable, and EXTREMELY meticulous (like our Winemaker).
- Capable of lifting 40 pounds and not mind getting dirty.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, up to 10-14 hour days, 7 days a week (for a span of a few weeks).
- Must have transportation to the winery.
- Forklift driving and wine production experience preferred, but will certainly consider a highly motivated, "quick to catch on", and capable candidate.
