Harvest Intern

Union Wine Co.

Tualatin, OR

Apply

Job Description:

About Us:
Union Wine Company is a community-oriented industrial winery in Tualatin, Oregon. We care more about the wine you drink than the glass you drink it in; no white tablecloths here. Fussiness bores us. Innovation excites us. And bringing great wine – whether it be in bottles or cans – to the table, picnic blanket or chairlift – is what drives us each and every day.

We’re a close-knit team operating on a simple set of values: work hard, be kind, laugh often, be responsible, act with honesty and integrity, don’t take yourself too seriously and treat others with respect. We don’t stop there though. We have a huge amount of respect for our planet and the bounty it gives us year-in and year-out. Union Wine Co. is LIVE-certified, we volunteer time annually to clean a section of the Clackamas River, and we are a certified B Corp. If you care about the planet, you’ll be in good company at Union.

About Our Winery:
Union Wine Company is situated between Portland and the Willamette Valley wine country. Our warehouse-winery is affectionately known as the Industrial Chateau where we’ve experienced rapid growth: In the past ten years, we’ve grown from scrappy little winery into what feels like a well-oiled machine capable of handling 6,000 tons of fruit (this year, we’ll bring in about 3,500). While most of this growth has come in the form of the brand Underwood, our other brands continue to remain in focus. These include Kings Ridge, Christopher Michael, Alchemist, and Amity Vineyards.

We’re looking for qualified applicants of all backgrounds and identities to join us for the 2026 harvest. Union Wine Company is committed to building an inclusive, supportive place for you to do the best and most rewarding work of your career.

Job summary:
Through the course of your time here, you will experience many facets of work in an Oregon winery while learning from our winemaking and production team. Harvest is expected to commence between mid-August and early September and conclude at the end of October or early November. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•  Forklift operations
•  Rigorous cleaning and sanitation
•  Juice and wine movements and racking
•  Lots of teamwork
•  Cap management of fermenting tanks
•  Press and pump operation
•  Filtration
•  Juice and wine additions
•  Observation of all safety policies
•  Other duties assigned by supervisor
*If you don’t know what some of these things mean, you’ll learn!

Fringe benefits include lunches, quality swag, rain gear, Coava Coffee, fermented beverages, and of course US Dollars.

The job won’t be easy. 3,500 tons of fruit won’t process itself. To reach that goal, each person must have:

•  Unwavering passion (or at least a genuine curiosity) for wine
•  No problem working long hours
•  Ability to Lift 50lbs (22.7kg)
•  A deep holster full of calculated humor
•  Self-transportation
•  Ability to listen
•  No fear of getting a little wet & dirty
•  Ability to thrive in beautiful and not so beautiful weather
•  A penchant for a little bit of organized chaos

Whether it’s your first harvest or twentieth, anyone with a good attitude is bound to be a successful part of the wine creation process. In all seriousness, most of our full-time production crew accessed those positions through our harvest program.
