We only hire A-plays so we’re committed to making sure our team has the highest earning potential in the Willamette Valley, and we've built a structure to back that up.

A qualified Tasting Room Associate at Artist Block will earn $19/hr base, with a realistic all-in of $35 to $50/hr after tips, commissions, and performance incentives. Our top associates have earned well above that, and yes, they have out-earned management. This role is genuinely what you make it.

Here's how it's built:
- Base rate: $19/hr, with merit-based advancement tied to performance
- Paycheck tips: Guest gratuity earned directly through tasting room service
- Club sign-up bonuses: Earned per club conversion, uncapped
- Art Commission: A percentage of your art sales, uncapped
- Performance bonuses: Tied to AOV and art sales milestones, uncapped

Our compensation philosophy is simple: When you earn more, it means we’re earning more. So we want you to earn more, always.

Overtime is paid per Oregon wage and hour laws; pre-approval required. Schedule is approximately 9AM to 6PM; weekends required; up to 5 days per week.



POSITION SUMMARY

We're looking for a hands-on, people-first Tasting Room Associate who brings energy to the floor, cares about the job, and wants to grow personally and professionally with a brand whose star is on the rise. You'll learn the full rhythm of a small winery's tasting room from the inside out: hospitality, sales, events, inventory, and everything in between. This isn't a background role. You're the face of Artist Block for every guest who walks through the door.

YOUR JOB
- Host and curate tasting appointments that feel personal, not scripted.
- Greet guests like old friends, anticipate their needs, and tell our story with passion.
- Share wine knowledge in a way that feels fresh, approachable, and exciting.
- Build authentic relationships that naturally lead to wine and club sales.
- Meet and exceed monthly goals focused on club conversion and art and wine sales.
- Contribute to customer notes and preferences daily using relevant tags and note-taking in the POS.
- Provide exceptional, "unreasonable" hospitality to guests, going out of your way to make each visit memorable (with a set monthly budget).
- Ensure our space looks and feels beautiful by maintaining a warm, clean tasting room environment per opening and closing protocols.


Core Responsibilities
- Punctual, efficient, and appropriately dressed for every shift.
- Input all orders and customer requests accurately into POS and close out data within 24 hours.
- Maintain accountability for assigned tasks and follow up on individual assignments in a timely manner.
- Support shipping, fulfillment, and inventory tasks.
- Assist with events, moving furniture, and flexible hours for event setup.
- Wash and polish glassware and prep charcuterie, boards, and other offerings.
- Clean, organize, and re-stock the tasting room; notify management of low supplies.
- Communicate customer service issues and victories to management weekly.
- Other duties as needed; we are a small, growing team.


Skills & Qualifications
- Winery tasting room experience is required.
- Proven sales ability with techniques to overcome objections and drive results.
- Experience with POS, reservation systems, and guest account management.
- Highly motivated, independent, and team-focused.
- Outstanding customer service with a solution-based attitude.
- Ability to gracefully manage limited supply and reservation capacity.
- Solid working knowledge of wines and production.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Must work weekends and some evenings; detail-oriented, organized, able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid OLCC permit.
- Professional appearance and personal flair. You are the face of Artist Block.
