We are seeking a highly organized and tech-savvy Tasting Room Associate to join our team. While providing an exceptional, educational guest experience is at the heart of this role, this position relies heavily on behind-the-scenes operations that keep our DTC channels running smoothly. This role is multifaceted and requires a high level of adaptability and evolution. The ideal candidate loves sharing the story of our wines just as much as they love clean data, perfectly balanced inventory, and a seamless shipping process. This is a full-time position. Please expect to be on-site at the Vineyard daily. Your standard work schedule will include weekend and holiday coverage, as needed, especially during our high-traffic season.
Guest Experience:
o Provide exceptional customer service and create a warm, safe, and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
o Perform pre-visit research, communicate and greet guests promptly and courteously on arrival and throughout the entire guest experience.
o Educate guests about Evening Land Vineyards, our winemaking philosophy, history, and the unique characteristics of our wines.
o Conduct guided wine tastings and vineyard tours, delivering high-level hospitality and answering questions.
o Handle guest inquiries and resolve any concerns in a professional and timely manner.
o Willing to participate in off-site events and experiences as needed.
Sales and Promotion:
o Promote and sell Evening Land Vineyards wines, wine club memberships, and other merchandise.
o Achieve sales goals and contribute to the overall success of the tasting room.
o Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
o Maintain accurate records of sales and inventory in HubSpot and Shopify.
o Act as a power-user of our DTC platforms, ensuring all customer profiles, club sign-ups, and transaction data are entered accurately.
o Support Hospitality Manager with guest bookings, table assignments, and walk-ins using our reservation software (Tock).
o Promote Evening Land Vineyards events and special offerings.
o Collaborate with Ecommerce and Customer Service teams seasonally on outreach and email campaign responsibilities.
o Conduct weekly and end-of-month physical inventory counts, ensuring tasting room depletion aligns perfectly with our point-of-sale (POS) data.
o Proactively manage tasting room inventory levels, pulling from off-site or back-of-house storage to ensure the floor is properly stocked for daily service and upcoming reservations.
o Pick, pack, and process daily eCommerce and tasting room shipping orders with high accuracy and care.
o Assist the DTC team during high-volume Wine Club release months with batch fulfillment, staging, and tracking.
o Monitor and order shipping materials (boxes, pulp inserts, tape) to ensure fulfillment is never delayed.
o Participate in regular DTC and companywide All-Hands meetings.
o Creating shipping orders, from assembly through customer fulfillment, with accuracy and timely customer communications throughout the entire process.
Tasting Room at Seven Springs Vineyard and Winery Operations:
o Assist with daily opening and closing procedures at the Tasting Room, including setting up and breaking down tasting stations.
o Manage and schedule wine club & local pick-up orders at the vineyard.
o Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the various tasting areas.
o Perform other duties as assigned by the Hospitality Manager.
Experience:
o Previous experience in a sales or customer service role, preferably in a winery, tasting room, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
o Passion for food & wine and a strong desire to learn more.
o Excellent communication, interpersonal, and sales skills.
o Utilize and maintain company-provided computer to communicate through a variety of applications in a timely and thoughtful manner with guests and coworkers throughout the workday.
o Ability to engage with diverse groups of people and provide outstanding customer service.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Have a desire to participate in harvest activities.
Other Requirements:
o Must be at least 21 years of age.
o Valid Oregon Driver License
o Lifting and carrying boxes of wine and merchandise, typically weighing up to 40 lbs., to assist customers with purchases.
o Must be able to stand for extended periods.
o Maneuvering through vineyards and winery facilities, occasionally navigating uneven terrain.
o Transport wines and supplies from winery with company vehicle.
o Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects our winery’s high standards. Utilize button-down shirts and aprons provided by Evening Land Vineyards and Provignage.
o Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
o OLCC Alcohol Service Permit & Oregon Health Authority Food Handlers Permit required.
o Previous experience in a winery tasting room preferred.
o Formal wine education (e.g., college or university wine related coursework, WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers) preferred.
