Assistant Tasting Room Manager

Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Tasting Room Manager to join the Argyle Winery hospitality team! Reporting to the Tasting Room Manager, this role is a key member of the Tasting House (TH) team responsible for directly supporting the Tasting House Manager (THM) with all aspects of Tasting House
management, large groups, and experiences. The person serves as the lead TH manager 4-5 days/week, as well as day to day ownership of a variety of outreach programs. This role is based in Dundee, OR and is a full-time, exempt position, working Friday - Tuesday (~45 hrs./week) and the incumbent qualifies for our outstanding health care benefits, PTO, 401k plan, wine allowance and more!

Minimum Qualifications:

•  3+ years of hospitality or wine sales experience
•  3+ years of people management or leadership
•  Tasting room management preferred
•  Event management experience preferred
•  College degree preferred
•  Knowledge of and deep passion for wine and the wine industry
•  Understanding of world class service and hospitality standards
•  Strong People management and Leadership skills
•  Strong verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills
•  Strong event planning and organizing skills
•  Ability to multi-task and delegate
•  Proficient computer computation skills in MS Office Suite, POS system, and web-based platforms and social media

Must be able to provide U.S. Work Authorization without current or future sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Tasting room and events management (80%)
•  Lead TH manager (4-5 days/week)
•  Oversees all reservation and large group requests
•  Manages responses to all guest feedback
•  Mastery of all order management and CRM systems
•  Mastery of all TH procedures and protocols
•  Leads all hospitality communications and initiatives
•  Provides event planning support as well as trade visit support with clients including confirming event details, managing logistics, & post event follow-up
•  Key liaison with event manager, marketing manager, and membership team including relationship development and growth
•  Participate in 12+ external consumer tasting events throughout Willamette Valley and the Portland annually
•  Help plan and manage all wine club member onsite events
•  Key TH liaison with the Guest Services team to ensure TH team is aware of all current order and club management protocols are understood and followed.

People and Culture (20%)
•  Co-manage payroll for accuracy and timely submission
•  Key liaison with new TH hires during the on-boarding process ensuring all necessary paperwork, required wine and hospitality education, systems training and mentoring has been completed
