Position Overview

The Tasting Room & Hospitality Manager oversees all daily tasting room operations, leads the hospitality team, drives DTC sales performance, and ensures every guest receives the elevated, personal experience that defines O’Brien Estate. This role is central to our customer journey and brand reputation.
You will manage staff, uphold service standards, support production and fulfillment needs, and help cultivate a welcoming, guest-first culture.

Compensation & Benefits:

Base Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 annually (DOE)
Additional Compensation: Commission, tips, and performance incentives

Key Responsibilities:

Management & Leadership:
•  Create and manage weekly staff schedules.
•  Lead the team in achieving tasting room sales goals, wine club conversions, and exceptional guest satisfaction.
•  Ensure all hospitality operations reflect O’Brien Estate’s intimate, estate-driven brand experience.
•  Train and mentor associates in tastings, sales, production support, shipping, and daily operations.
•  Manage POS, reservation systems, and cash handling.
•  Oversee guest communication, including calls, emails, confirmations, and follow-up.
•  Conduct weekly and monthly inventory counts, and coordinate and reconcile product movement.
•  Prepare weekly and monthly sales and performance reports.
•  Participate in monthly team meetings and contribute to operational improvements.

Hospitality & Guest Experience:
•  Host and serve guests in our indoor and outdoor tasting spaces, delivering a warm, knowledgeable, and personalized experience.
•  Set up and break down daily tastings, private experiences, and small events.
•  Share compelling stories about O’Brien Estate wines, vineyards, and family history.
•  Anticipate and respond to guest needs with professionalism and care.
•  Maintain retail and tasting room cleanliness, organization, and merchandising.
•  Support wine club outreach, sign-ups, retention, and member communication.
•  Assist with off-site events and industry engagements as needed.

Production & Fulfillment:
•  Pack and ship tasting room, eCommerce, and club orders as needed.
•  Maintain fulfillment accuracy and timely delivery for all customer orders.

Minimum Qualifications:
•  College Degree.
•  Min 2+ years of management experience in retail, hospitality, restaurant, or wine industry service.
•  Basic knowledge of office equipment (phone, computer, cash register, calculator).
•  Ability to use and manage POS reservation systems (e.g., Commerce7, Tock) Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
•  Must be 21 years of age or older.
•  Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
•  RBS and Food Handling certification (provided by employer).
