Position Overview
Hestan Vineyards is seeking a polished, sales-driven Assistant Tasting Room Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Yountville Tasting Salon and its small team. This hands-on role is responsible for working with the Director of DTC to manage the sales team, drive wine sales, build Wine Club membership, and create higher hospitality standards that reflect the Hestan brand.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Direct-to-Consumer Performance
•  Lead daily tasting salon operations with an active sales presence on the floor.
•  Drive team performance against key metrics including wine sales, Wine Club acquisition, conversion rates, and average order value.
•  Coach and motivate the hospitality team through daily communication, ongoing sales training, and performance feedback.
•  Support outbound guest follow-up and customer relationship development to encourage repeat visitation and long-term loyalty.
•  Collaborate with leadership on initiatives that increase visitation, enhance guest engagement, and grow direct sales revenue.

Team Leadership & Training
•  Lead by example with professionalism, accountability, and a strong hospitality mindset.
•  Work with the DTC Director to create daily team plans and pre-shift communication regarding reservations, sales goals, special guests, and operational priorities.
•  Assist with training and development of hospitality staff.
•  Support scheduling needs, including weekends, holidays, and special events.

Hospitality & Guest Experience
•  Foster a warm, polished, and personalized hospitality environment that reflects the Hestan Vineyards brand.
•  Anticipate guest needs, recognize VIP and Wine Club members, and resolve guest concerns with professionalism and care.
•  Ensure reservation flow, guest communications, and tasting experiences are executed with a high level of detail and consistency.
•  Monitor and assist with all POS transactions and daily cash reconciliations
•  Develop and maintain relationships with local concierges, hotel partners, drivers, and hospitality contacts to support visitation and referrals.

Operations & Administration
•  Oversee opening and closing procedures, POS accuracy, and daily operational standards.
•  Maintain tasting salon presentation, cleanliness, merchandising displays, and luxury aesthetic standards.
•  Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Events & Brand Representation
•  Assist in the planning and execution of winery events, Wine Club gatherings, and private hospitality experiences.
•  Represent Hestan Vineyards with professionalism at occasional on-site and off-site events.

Qualifications
•  2+ years of tasting room, luxury retail, or direct wine sales experience, including prior leadership responsibility preferred.
•  Passion for wine, hospitality, and relationship-driven sales.
•  Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
•  Ability to lead and motivate a small team.
•  Professional appearance and polished guest-facing demeanor.
•  Experience with POS, reservation, and CRM systems preferred.
•  Work week will be Friday through Tuesday, 10:00 am to 6:30 pm.
•  Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements
•  Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
•  Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
