Job Summary
Venge Vineyards is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the financial sector, improve systems, communicate financial results, and manage cash flow and income. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer. This is a full-time job, with on-site presence required five days per week.


Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Accounting
•  Oversee daily accounting operations and internal controls
•  Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting schedules monthly
•  Prepare and review journal entries as needed, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
•  Supervise A/P, Wholesale order processing, and bank reconciliation performed by others
•  Prepare and present monthly and annual GAAP-compliant financial statements to senior management
•  Cost Accounting including computation of SKUs on spec-id basis, both bulk and bottled wines
•  Inventory maintenance and reconciliation, by location by month
•  Cash management, short-term and long-term
•  Fixed asset accounting, communication with outside CPAs to manage depreciation
•  Assist with forecasting, manage budgeting annual budgeting process, and financial planning
•  Coordinate with external CPAs for annual review and tax compliance

Leadership & Supervision
•  Provide oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, compliance reporting, and general accounting functions

Qualifications
•  Candidate should be a motivated, detail-oriented professional who demonstrates integrity, accountability, flexibility, strong organizational skills, professional judgement, and the ability to thrive in a complex environment
•  A collaborative attitude, positive outlook, and appreciation for winery operations is a must
•  Strong communication skills and ability to get along well with others
•  Ability to identify opportunities for improving operational efficiencies and cost control
•  Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently

Education and Experience
•  Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required
•  Minimum five (5) years of progressive accounting experience including some with wine industry
•  Cost accounting experience within wine industry
•  Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise, Bill.com, Outlook and Excel

Physical Requirements
•  Valid California driver’s license and insurable driving record
•  Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs. regularly
•  Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer

Pay Transparency Disclosure
The pay scale for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 annually. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and education.

Five days per week onsite (Monday through Friday)
