The Enologist supports all aspects of wine production through coordination of cellar work, harvest sampling and lab work, quality control, inventory management, and support to the winemaking team. This role bridges the gap between the laboratory and cellar, helping ensure wines are produced to the highest quality standards.
Our ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, technically proficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment that shifts seasonally between harvest intensity and long-term projects.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Enology or Viticulture
• 2–3 years of winery production and/or laboratory experience
• Experience with winery software platform InnoVint
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Forklift certification is a plus
• Spanish speaking is a plus
Job Requirements
• Execution, reconciliation, and entry of work orders, lab data management, and bulk and bottled wine inventories
• Must be able to work both independently and with our cellar team
• Strong understanding of wine stability, filtration, and bottling protocols
• Must possess a strong analytical mindset, be curious and technically minded
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
Work Environment
• Hours may include evenings, weekends, and extended shifts
• Combination of laboratory, cellar, and outdoor work environments
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production setting with seasonal fluctuations in workload
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and work long hours during harvest
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures, wet environments, and around production equipment
