Continuum Estate is a family-owned and operated high-end winery from Napa Valley that is focused on being recognized as one of the finest estates in the world.
POSITION SUMMARY: This position will play a crucial role in driving sales strategies and optimizing performance within our organization by way of analyzing sales data, developing actionable insights, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance our market position and drive revenue growth. This position will also be responsible for all inventory movement and reporting as well as all company compliance/reporting. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sales analytics, inventory control and a strong background in the wine industry with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable strategies and manage day-to-day compliance reporting issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Analysis and Reporting:
o Collect, analyze, and interpret sales data from various sources to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. This includes analysis for both wholesale and DTC for 3 wines.
o Maintain and improve Continuum’s detailed sales reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to support strategic decision-making.
o Monitor and provide insights on sales performance, market trends, and competitive positioning.
o Work with the Vinosmith team to optimize and improve sales reporting.
Company Inventory Management:
o Create and manage products as new vintages are released to market.
o Set up new and prospective accounts in the sales software and make sure new accounts are synced with Quickbooks.
o Reconcile sales reports with Quickbooks.
o Record incoming and outgoing inventory transfers between warehouses.
o Manage inventory reconciliation at the estate as well as off-site warehouses.
o Produce monthly samples reports and quarterly inventory by vintage summary reports.
Sales Development:
o Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop and implement data-driven sales strategies and initiatives.
o Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities.
o Collaborate with the sales team to understand their data needs and provide timely and accurate reports. Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing regular data audits.
Compliance - Tax Reporting and Payments
o Manage Sovos / ShipCompliant site DTC and Wholesale automated reports (most are required monthly, but some are quarterly or annually).
o Reconcile monthly ACH payment report with accounting.
o Follow up on any notifications of non-compliance (from Sovos or from state regulators)
o TTB permitting, State Brand Registration & Renewals for three skus.
o Reference Sovos/ShipCompliant for state brand registration rules/requirements.
o Use A1 compliance grid by state to manage website and logins for current 35 states with label registration requirements.
o DTC shipping permits & WH licensing.
o Use A1 compliance grid by state to manage website and logins for current 76 active license renewal events.
o Track Bond renewals. Work with Hartford Insurance to update appropriate documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Data Science or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in sales analysis, preferably within the wine & spirits, beverage, or consumer goods industries.
o Proficient with Microsoft Office, with high aptitude of Excel skills (Pivot table, formulas, analysis). Basic proficiency with Quickbooks. Experience with VIP, Encompass, VinoSmith a bonus.
o Strong analytical skills with experience in data science and analysis, forecasting and financial modeling. Previous experience with compliance reporting a plus.
o Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
o Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.
o Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations.
COMPENSATION: Range from $80,000-$90,000
