Northern Napa Valley, family owned, multi generational, ultra premium, legacy winery seeking General Manager

The General Manager is charged with continuing and enhancing the company’s reputation for excellence in its wines, vineyards and hospitality by leading a competent, highly motivated management team, ensuring financial sustainability and stability, and by implementing successful marketing and sales strategies.

The position is daily at the winery in the St.Helena/Calistoga area. Qualified applicants must have the following experience:

•  Experience managing high quality vineyard and winery production
•  Recent experience in the wholesale tier through distribution
•  Understanding and recent experience with winery economics
•  Marketing experience in developing portfolio, branding and target consumer analytics

The GM is responsible for the leadership, development, and management of all departments.
The GM reports to the CEO and the company’s Board of Directors including the preparation and presentation of reports at scheduled Board of Director meetings.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Leading the implementation of the company’s strategic plan in concert with key senior staff
•  Sustaining and enhancing an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes teamwork, long term commitment, and high performance
•  Establishing and achieving clear, measurable goals and performance criteria for all company functions and reporting staff
•  Responsible for the company’s financial performance, establishing and meeting annual operating revenue goals and budget
•  Responsible for capital investments in concert with the Board direction and the company’s financial resources and priorities
•  Charged with upholding the company's brand including brand attributes: estate, family owned, grapes and wines of exceptional quality
•  Coordinate winemaking and vineyard operations to ensure the production of grapes and wines of the highest quality and meeting target yields
•  Coordinate grape sales and sales of bulk wine
•  Develop, analyze and meet DTC, Hospitality, and Wholesale annual case and revenue goals with key managers
•  Lead collaborative sales team across DTC and National Sales to enhance on and offsite programming of wine and hospitality events
•  Work closely with Marketing to ensure programming, P.R, website and social media messaging is consistent with brand and high quality
•  Responsible for annual operating plans and budgets accompanied by a rolling 5-year financial forecast
•  Maintain systems and procedures to ensure that the company complies with all local, state and federal laws and regulations
•  Manage the administrative department, provide regular financial reporting, inventory management and insurance continuity
•  Manage facilities and capital expenditures to maintain the high quality production and guest experiences of the estate
