Mathew Bruno produces single-vineyard, small-lot wines from some of the most sought-after vineyards in the Napa Valley — including Beckstoffer’s To Kalon Vineyard, Georges III Vineyard, Stagecoach Vineyard, and Sun Chase Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast. The Mathew Bruno Rutherford Estate is located in the heart of Rutherford at 1151 Rutherford Road, neighbors to Elizabeth Spencer Winery, Beaulieu Vineyards, and the acclaimed Rutherford Grill. Originally constructed in the 1890s and once considered “the finest house in Rutherford,” the estate features Victorian-era architecture alongside relaxed private lounge areas, a wraparound porch, beautifully landscaped grounds, water features, and a bocce court — all with a vineyard view.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Work with all hospitality team members to execute tasting experiences with keen attention to detail, empathy, and luxury hospitality standards.
• Have fun, sell wine, and grow our following by sharing our unique story and exceptional wines.
• Lead by example to deliver exceptional customer service and motivate others to do the same.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up tasting experiences and stocking appropriate glassware and materials.
• Create lasting relationships with guests by providing personal, engaging experiences with excellent follow up.
• Support wine club members with inquiries, orders, and ongoing engagement.
• Assist with special events hosted at the estate, including private tastings, winemaker dinners, and brand activations.
• Participate in off-site pourings and trade events as needed to represent the Mathew Bruno brand.
Required Experience
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 2+ years of hospitality or tasting room experience; management experience a plus.
• Proficiency in Commerce7 (C7) POS and Tock reservation platform preferred.
• Significant sales and customer service experience.
• Availability to work a consistent full-time schedule including weekends and occasional evenings.
• A genuine passion for wine, Napa Valley, and sharing that enthusiasm with others.

• Highly professional in all interpersonal and guest communications.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to anticipate guest needs and respond accordingly.
• Comfortable upselling and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative, adaptable, and able to meet deadlines while maintaining a warm guest experience.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
