Job Description:

WINEMAKING & VINEYARD INTERNSHIP - 2026

Nacra Estate is rooted in the tension and common ground between our two estate properties, one in the coastal ranges of Occidental and the other set above the Napa Valley on the ridges of Mt. Veeder. With our work spread across both coastal and mountain settings, our viticulture, farming, and winemaking are site-informed and grounded in traditional techniques.

THE ROLE

Through this next growing season, we’re looking to bring on a qualified and passionate intern across our vineyard and winery operations. While primarily focused on vineyard and cellar operations, a successful candidate would also be able to fulfill special estate projects (design, planning, execution), assist in outfitting new winemaking facilities and creating data collection protocols for the vineyard properties. This position is for someone who wants exposure across multiple areas of a fledgling business and to gain experience beyond the traditional internship opportunities.

In decreasing priority, we are looking for the following traits and experiences:
•  Honesty & Reliability
•  Takes initiative
•  Comfortable communicating needs, concerns, and doubts
•  Prior hands-on experience throughout a complete harvest
•  Comfort with vineyard and production work – and a preference for both
•  Curiosity
•  Appreciates cellar hygiene
•  Independently motivated
•  Speaks Spanish or wants to learn

In addition to competitive pay, we hope to find someone who would view the following as additional benefits:
•  Experience in two unique wine-growing regions
•  Educational experiences and conversations around perspectives on farming and winemaking
•  Occasional shared meals (increasing frequency during harvest)
•  Exposure to wines which have inspired our direction as winemakers and farmers
•  Opportunity for Creative Estate projects (gardens, native plant propagation, alternative crops, etc.)
