Domain HWH, a family winegrowing endeavor built to last for generations, is part of Pacific Union Co. The Domain has evolved through the decades and comprises three Napa Valley properties that form its pillars: Harlan Estate, founded in 1984; BOND, founded in 1996; and Promontory, founded in 2008. The Mascot— a wine made from the younger vines of the three estates—was established in 2012. Each of these undertakings is dedicated to the understanding of our land, and to faithfully translating the respective characters of the individual properties into their wines.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Research Technician supports the R&D department by preparing, processing, and analyzing vineyard samples for laboratory testing under established protocols. The role focuses on routine molecular diagnostics, laboratory accuracy, and reliable data recording to support vineyard health monitoring and viticulture research programs.
This position is suited for individuals interested in viticulture, plant science, or agricultural research who are comfortable working in both laboratory and field environments and following structured sampling, testing, and data protocols.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•  Prepare and process plant tissue samples according to established laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures.
•  Perform loop mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assays for vineyard pathogen detection.
•  Maintain a clean, organized, and contamination-controlled laboratory workspace.
•  Conduct routine laboratory analyses, as assigned.
•  Handle, label, store, and dispose samples and reagents in accordance with laboratory requirements.
•  Accurately record test results and associated metadata to ensure traceability and data integrity.
•  Assist with data entry, basic summaries, and organization of analytical results.
•  Support ongoing R&D and viticulture research activities as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
•  Basic laboratory skills
•  Ability to work in a laboratory environment and follow established safety practices.
•  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
•  Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
•  Basic analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
•  Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
•  Valid driver’s license and insurance


WILLINGNESS AND ABILITY TO:
•  Stand and walk on uneven, sloped terrain and hillside for extended periods.
•  Grasp, stoop, carry and crouch.
•  Ability to accurately distinguish colors.
•  Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
•  Work overtime, as needed, pre-dawn or late hours.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The pay scale for this position is $22-$22 hourly. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. The Company reserves the right to modify the range in the future.

Bonus Pay Disclosure: In addition to the base pay of $22.00 per hour, employees hired for this seasonal position will be eligible to earn a $1.00 per hour bonus for each day worked (anticipated up to 100 days), provided the employee meets performance expectations and remains an active employee at the time of bonus payout; this bonus will be paid in accordance with the Domain Services payroll practices following completion of the assignment.
