Position Summary
The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for accounting, reconciliation, and analysis pertaining to all Crimson Wine Group vineyards, overheads, and bulk wine inventory at all locations. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of inventory on hand, reconciliation of physical inventories, allocation of overheads, and application of harvest costs into bulk wine, as well as contract management and coordination of budgets and analytics with the FP&A team. This position ensures that inventory is accounted for in accordance with Company, GAAP, SEC and other regulatory guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Documents and communicates standard operating procedures and policies pertaining to the company’s bulk wine inventory. Makes recommendations to improve or streamline procedures.
• Performs annual (or as scheduled) bulk wine inventory reconciliation of physical to perpetual balances for all locations where the company stores bulk wine inventory.
• Reconciles inventory sub ledger to the general ledger monthly.
• Performs other balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis related to bulk wine inventory, overheads, vineyards, etc.
• Performs bill of materials level costing for finished goods items, rolling up bulk wine and all components and overheads.
• Partners with FP&A to lead routine review meetings with the farming and winemaking teams to communicate budget vs. actual results, current metrics, and make recommendations / get feedback on current projects.
• Provides management reporting on bulk wine inventory availability and cost per gallon, overhead rates, harvest details, supply chain, and ad hoc reporting as needed or requested.
• Participates in the production planning process with the Inventory Analyst by reviewing a 12-month rolling schedule of upcoming bottlings across wineries and brands.
• Assists in review and maintenance of item card set up in the company’s ERP system and other 3rd party systems for both wine and non-wine products.
• Performs final costing of all harvest activities (estate fruit, purchased fruit, and crush overhead), assigning cost to the related bulk wine.
• Manages all bulk wine related contracts (purchased grape and bulk wine, custom winemaking, etc.), facilitates final signatures, organization of fully executed agreements, and any related system setup.
• Assists in the risk analysis on excess bulk wine inventory and works with winemaking team on disposition plans for stock.
• Performs cycle counts of inventory held at different locations to ensure proper recording and safeguarding of inventory.
• Provides general customer support for all inquiries into stock levels, transactions, item set up, costing, etc.
• Provides assistance and support with inventory requests related to the company’s quarterly financial reviews, internal controls and fiscal year-end audit.
• Assists with related special projects as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in related field or equivalent.
• Years of Experience: 4+ years of Accounting/Finance experience +/or training, with Cost Accounting and winery experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel required.
• Experience with Business Central; Solver; Vintrace; Power Bi desired.
• Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.

The projected (base) pay range for this position is $96K – 115K per year in addition to annual bonus.
This is the projected compensation for the position, however the actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as (but not limited to) candidate qualifications, related experience and education, candidate work location and market data. Crimson Wine Group reserves the right to modify the pay range at any time in the future.
