Role Overview:
Somnium Wine — a boutique, estate-driven Napa Valley brand — is seeking a sophisticated, relationship-focused sales professional to join our growing team in early 2026. Our priority is expanding sales in a way that drives measurable traction across direct-to-consumer, wholesale, and corporate gifting channels, with a strong emphasis on high-touch, hospitality-led experiences. This is a highly autonomous, forward-facing role for someone who thrives on relationship activation, owns their results, and is energized by building revenue rather than waiting for it.
What You’ll Lead:
60% Napa Valley–Based
• Host elevated tastings, VIP estate visits, and small-format experiences at our Calistoga tasting room
• Proactively engage new prospects through outreach, hospitality interactions, and personal introductions
• Support corporate gifting programs and nurture long-term client relationships
• Lead vineyard tours and club experiences for members and key guests
40% Travel / Market Activation
• Execute intimate in-home dinners, collector gatherings, and private club tastings in key markets
• Partner with distributors to drive placements and host activation dinners at restaurants and private clubs
• Build and manage relationships with high-value buyers and accounts that convert into ongoing revenue
• Represent Somnium at select events, dinners, and strategic partnerships
Primary Responsibilities
• Drive revenue across DTC, wholesale, and corporate channels with a clear sales mindset
• Host personalized wine dinners, tastings, and curated experiences through your network
• Cultivate and consistently manage relationships clients and collectors
• Actively generate new business — not wait for clients or buyers to come to you
• Strengthen distributor relationships and support programming in key markets
• Provide monthly performance reports, pipeline updates, and guest/event feedback
• Maintain Somnium’s brand standards, storytelling, and hospitality excellence in every interaction
Ideal Candidate Profile
We’re looking for someone who is:
• Self-motivated, trustworthy, team player and a true self-starter
• Skilled at managing and nurturing relationships into long-term, repeat revenue
• Experienced in luxury wine, high-end hospitality, or market development
• Comfortable hosting in private homes, restaurants, and intimate group settings
• A strong communicator with confident presentation and storytelling skills
• Able to balance independence with collaboration in a small, high-touch team environment
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years luxury wine sales, understands distribution management, or high-end hospitality experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of Napa Valley wine industry and the fine-dining landscape
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 8–10 times annually
• Evening and weekend availability for events and activations
• Physical ability to handle wine cases up to 55 pounds
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
