Cuvaison Estate Wines is a family-owned winery producing Estate grown wines from our two vineyards in Napa Valley, California. In addition, we offer custom crush services for several highly regarded winemakers. This internship is a great opportunity to learn winemaking from an incredible group of winemakers, grapes and vineyards - all in one setting. We are a small team, so everyone is integral to our success.
We are looking for an enthusiastic intern for the 2025 harvest! This temporary, full-time position is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of winemaking, among a diverse team. Cuvaison Estate focuses primarily on Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc from our Carneros Estate Vineyard, and Cabernet Sauvignon from our Mt. Veeder Estate Vineyard.
This internship starts immediately and lasts until October. Harvest interns assist the winery production team with a myriad of tasks including:
• Winery equipment cleaning & sanitation
• Grape sampling
• Grape sorting
• Grape pressing
• Juice and wine transfers
• Pump-overs and punch-down
• Drain and press operations
• Barrel filling and barrel topping
• Nutrient and yeast additions
• Fermentation monitoring
• General winery sanitation and cleaning
Qualifications:
• Reliable and punctual
• Upbeat and positive attitude
• Ability to follow directions and work independently
• Attention to detail and strong work ethic
• Ability to work with diverse personalities
• Previous harvest/winery experience preferred but not required
• Ability to follow all Company safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
• Ability to work in both outdoor and indoor environments, in hot and cold climates
• Ability to perform physical labor and sustain extended periods of standing or walking
• Ability to work near forklift trucks, moving equipment and loud machines
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients
• Ability to work extended shifts, 6 – 7 days per week
