Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Production


POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for performing various duties troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining winery equipment and buildings in accordance with best practices and the highest safety standards. Secondly, the Maintenance Technician supports the production and hospitality staff as needed. Must be comfortable working with a team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•  Follows all safety policies and procedures and participates in safety training for staff
•  Always maintains a clean and orderly working environment. Take ownership of the appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of our facilities
•  Performs technician duties including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic work to include troubleshooting and repair of all winery equipment as well as facilities
•  Perform preventive maintenance on equipment on a regular basis
•  Excellent record keeping and communication with management
•  Be flexible and able to thrive in a team environment
•  Operate a forklift, truck and other equipment
•  Participate in reporting for storm water, wastewater, hazardous materials, fire and safety and more
•  Assist winemaking staff as needed, especially during harvest
•  Assist with the coordination of maintenance projects as needed on owners’ dwelling and systems located on property.
•  Supervise vendors and ensure we are receiving service in the agreed upon time frame and cost. Provide regular feedback
•  Keep management informed weekly of ongoing projects
•  Knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and other equipment to perform duties (welding skills a plus)
•  Knowledge in general construction, mechanical skills, electrical (both wiring & circuit level), plumbing, pumps (air & mechanical), HVAC/Glycol system, PLC understanding and the ability to troubleshoot any system within the premises' is needed.
•  Will be asked to assist with production tasks such as forklift work, picking up supplies/parts, taking care of old pallets, using truck and trailer to move equipment.
•  Assist subcontractors with setup needs and occasionally help trouble their equipment.
•  Maintaining kitchens and equipment, general cleaning, maintaining outside furniture, lighting.
•  Maintaining fountain and work with landscaping company to identify problems.

•  Maintain an annual service schedule for company vehicles.
•  Set up and perform Annual Fire Extinguisher certification.
•  Power wash exterior of buildings.
•  Some level of familiarity with bottling line maintenance and repair

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no direct reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•  Ability to work at night during certain times of the year
•  Must be able to stand for an extended period of time
•  Strong code of ethics and high level of integrity.
•  Ability to lift 50 pounds, use ladders, climb stairs and be on your feet for extended periods.
•  Must have a valid CA driver’s license with clean driving record.
•  Must complete and pass background check prior to hiring
•  Must be able to work 8 hours a day (40 hr work week) plus flexible time for Harvest

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position.
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner at all times. Frequent operation of equipment and tools, the ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as need, and to occasionally lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
